WXL86
WXL86 is a NOAA Weather Radio station that serves all of Eastern Washington, North Idaho and Western Montana. It is programmed from the National Weather Service forecast office in Spokane, Washington with its transmitter located at Mount Spokane near Spokane.
It can be heard across the Eastern Columbia Basin, The Spokane area, The Palouse, and the Northeast Mountains, as well as high points such as Steptoe Butte, Mission Ridge Ski Area and across portions of the Wenatchee area. At night, it can be heard in rural areas of the Central Columbia Basin and Okanogan Highlands.
It broadcasts weather and hazard information for Adams, Asotin, Chelan, Douglas, Ferry, Garfield, Grant, Lincoln, Okanogan, Pend Oreille, Spokane, Stevens and Whitman counties in Washington; plus Benewah, Bonner, Boundary, Clearwater, Idaho, Idaho, Idaho, Lewis, Nez Perce, and Shoshone counties in Idaho; as well as Lincoln and Sanders counties in Montana. The big coverage area is a result of a request by broadcasters.
