WXIN (90.7 FM) is the student campus radio broadcast service of Rhode Island College. WXIN operates a part 15 FM transmitter on the property of Rhode Island College, in Providence, RI, USA. In addition, "WXIN" rebroadcasts its programming in the form of a webcast over the Internet through streaming service providers Live365 and Ustream. "WXIN" has garnered a reputation for launching the careers of many prominent Rhode Island radio and television personalities, despite the station's small size, and has been a pioneer in Internet broadcasting.
WXIN is a student organization, officially recognized by Rhode Island College, and funded by Student Community Government, Inc. The organization has been broadcasting as Rhode Island College's sole radio station consistently since 1979. The station began as a carrier-current station on camps, operating as "WRIC" on 580 AM, and began broadcasting on 88.1 FM and later 90.7 FM in the late 1980s.
Since the early 1990s, the station's management also cooperated with WELH in Providence, where veteran WXIN DJs were given radio shows on certain nights and weekends. The agreement ended in early 2007, however, when Brown University Student Radio bought out Rhode Island College Radio's air time. Over the length of the agreement, WELH operated as Rhode Island College Radio's second official station whenever WXIN DJs were given air time.
WXIN, virtual channel 59 (UHF digital channel 45), is a Fox-affiliated television station located in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. The station is owned by the Tribune Broadcasting subsidiary of Tribune Media, as part of a duopoly with CBS affiliate WTTV (channel 4). The two stations share studio facilities located on Network Place (near 71st Street & I-465) at the Intech Park office development in northwestern Indianapolis; WXIN maintains transmitter facilities located on West 73rd Street (or Westlane Road) on the northern outskirts of the city (west of Meridian Hills).
On cable, WXIN is available on Comcast Xfinity, Bright House Networks and AT&T U-verse channel 11 in standard definition and in high definition on Xfinity, Bright House Networks and AT&T U-verse channel 1011.
The UHF channel 59 allocation in Central Indiana was originally assigned to Lafayette (located approximately 63 miles (101 km) northwest of Indianapolis). The allocation would become occupied by CBS affiliate WFAM-TV (now WLFI-TV), which original owner Sarkes Tarzian (the founding owners of WXIN's present-day sister station WTTV) signed on in June 1953. After that station moved its allocation to UHF channel 18 in 1957, UHF channel 59 would remain dormant until the Federal Communications Commission later reassigned the allotment to Indianapolis.
The boat that failed it's only sail
is burning in the river
It's heating up the water mains
while the rest of the house just shivers
It's sinking fast
straight through the grass
A buoyant mask
A medical grasp
and that... was
all I had to give her
...but I will take my hand's mistakes
Stay afloat in
this flushing river
With the smell of your soul
and fix the bridge that
bowed
from the blows that age delivers
But I fear collapse...
as your
weight will pass
You know... I love you more that you will know
Something
is coming for us
t's coming through the vents
.for the worst and
best.
And so it seems
Like old beliefs...
We're struggling in the
water
Fishing for a fish that knows
of a way to save the other...
Don't turn
blue
It's turning the room...
and as it spins the violence
coats the walls
in bother...
Carousels and comet tails
are somewhere in this river
...and
