It was originally a country music-formatted station, WBVR, serving Bowling Green but also attracting listenership in the Nashville radio market. The WBVR callsign is now being used by a country station that focuses on the Bowling Green market, licensed to Auburn, Kentucky.

During the mid-1990s, the 101.1 frequency bore the callsigns WJZC-FM, with Russellville, Kentucky remaining the city of license, but began focusing more on the Nashville radio market, but still could be picked up in the Bowling Green area. From then until 2001, it was branded as "Jazzy 101" broadcasting a smooth jazz format. It later switched to a contemporary Christian music outlet, and being branded as "The One."
