WRIV (1390 AM) is a radio station licensed to Riverhead, New York and serves eastern Long Island. It broadcasts an Adult Standards format.
The station, which has been owned since 1987 by Crystal Coast Communications, has daytime power of 1,000 Watts and 64 Watts at night.
The station, then owned by the Suffolk Broadcasting Corporation, went on the air on June 19, 1955 as a sister station to co-owned WALK and WALK-FM radio in Patchogue, New York. Its 1st studio at 29 East Main Street burned within six months in what is listed by the Riverhead Fire Department as one of the worst fires in the town's history.
In 1963 it was sold to Island Broadcasting System with its sister stations, WALK AM & FM. Island Broadcasting was owned in part by NBC News anchorman Chet Huntley. In 1967, WRIV applied for a television license for Channel 55. WRIV-TV, which likely would have gone to air as the NBC affiliate for eastern Long Island, held a construction permit for the station until the early 1970s. The Channel 55 allocation was dormant until WLIG-TV went on the air in 1985; today Channel 55 is known as WLNY-TV and is owned by CBS.
come again she said
heading for the fungus road
one too many times
he's bitin you down to the bone
so you sail away
into the unknown
stay away he said
dont ever come back home
cry away the days the last so long
on the road she stays away
stay away
you can find me pain
that he left inside your home
fallin in the rain
your hole life has fall'n a part
so you say to me
into the unknown
stay away he said
dont ever come back home
cry away the days the last so long
on the road she stays away
alone she cries
use that inside
new look, new lies
who thought that he's that loser who once said
here's your kiss good bye
see this is real
she doesn't feel
lonely hearts
shattered dreams
there's nothing better in this place
nothing but memories in your mind
so you say to me
into the unknown
stay away he said
dont ever come back home
cry away the days the last so long
on the road she stays away
alone she cries
lose that hate inside
new love, new lies
who thought that he'd he's that ol' loser who once said
here's your kiss good bye
alone she cries
lose that hate inside
new love, new lies
who thought that he's that loser who once said
