WRDU ("Classic Rock 100.7") is a classic rock radio station that serves the Raleigh–Durham market of North Carolina. Its studios are located at Smoketree Court in Raleigh and its city of license is in Wake Forest. However, its city-grade signal also covers a considerable part of the Eastern North Carolina market, including the cities of Rocky Mount, Wilson, Goldsboro, Greenville, and Roanoke Rapids, based on the transmitter location east of Zebulon. WRDU is owned and operated by iHeartMedia, whose sister stations include G105, 106.1 WTKK, and B93.9.
WRDU broadcasts in the HD radio format.
In 1947, Mel Warner and his father-in-law, Rocky Mount Evening Telegram founder Josh Horne, signed an AM/FM combo in this Eastern North Carolina town. WCEC was heard at 810 AM and WCEC-FM 100.7. The stations hired legendary agricultural broadcaster Ray Wilkinson in 1948 and, along with Raleigh's WRAL-FM, and Goldsboro's WGBR started the Tobacco Network. It was sold to WRAL-FM owner A. J. Fletcher, and has grown into what is now known as the North Carolina News Network. Two years after its sign on, WCEC-FM became WFMA.
WRDU may refer to:
You know you're livin' a lie when you just can't win
Pulling in first prize ain't gonna give you a break
You know I'm kickin' back, I had a broken wing
Me and my shadow are the next best thing
I need someone
You know it might take more than you give to me
Are you gun-shy, are you listening?
What we got here is dead reckoning
And take me in for the night in the right time zone
We'll do what you like, make a left turn home
I put out the light, you're turnin' way too red
No stop sign straight up ahead
You need so much
So much sympathy
That's more than I can say
You know it's not too late
Are you gun-shy, are you listening?
What we got here is dead reckoning
And if it feels good, we'll do it again
See your way clear, dead reckoning
Tell me why, tell me why
Are you listening?
Are you listening?
Are you listening?
Are you listening?
You mean so much
So much to me
That's more than I can say
You know it's not too late
Are you gun-shy, are you listening?
What we got here is dead reckoning
And if it feels good, we'll do it again
See your way clear, dead reckoning, yeah
What we got here is dead reckoning
