WKZA (106.9 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Hot Adult Contemporary/Contemporary hit radio format. Licensed to Lakewood, New York, USA, the station serves the Jamestown, New York area. The station is currently owned by Cross Country Communications, LLC; it is one of only two commercial radio stations based in southern Chautauqua County not owned by Media One Group (the other being sister station WLKW-FM in Celoron.
The station originally intended to sign on as WKSQ-FM, as FCC records dated 5 September 2000 indicate. On 9 October 2000, the station changed its call sign to the current WKZA, the call sign made popular by a now defunct AM station in nearby Kane, Pennsylvania. However, the station did not sign on until late November 2000.
The station's first format was a stunt, airing continuous Christmas music. Soon after, the station "officially" signed on with its format of KISS-FM hit radio, which it has maintained ever since.
Personalities heard on WKZA include Heather Skuggen (KISS-FM Morning Show), Joe McMillan and Johnny Nixon. Syndicated programs include American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest and various shows hosted by Tom Kent.
Well, my name it is a number it's on a piece of plastic film
And I've been growin' funny flowers outside on my little window sill
Don't you know I'm a 2,000 man
And my kids, they just don't understand me at all
You know, my wife still respects me even though I really misuse her
I am having an affair with the Random computer
Don't you know I'm a 2,000 man
And my kids, they just don't understand me at all
Oh daddy, proud of your planet, oh mommy, proud of your sun
Oh daddy, proud of your planet, oh mommy, proud of your sun
Oh daddy, your brain's still flashin' like they did when you were young
Or did they come down crashin' seeing all the thing's you'd done
Spacin' out havin' fun
Oh daddy, proud of your planet, oh mommy, proud of your sun
Oh daddy, proud of your planet, oh mommy, proud of your sun
Oh daddy, your brain's still flashin' like they did when you were young
Or did they come down crashin' seeing all the thing's you'd done
Spacin' out havin' fun
Don't you know I'm a 2,000 man
And my kids, they just don't understand me at all
Don't you know I'm a 2,000 man
And my kids, they just don't understand me at all
Understand me, understand me, understand me
Don't you know I'm a 2,000 man
And my kids, they just don't understand me at all
Don't you know I'm a 2,000 man
And my kids, they just don't understand me at all
I'm a 2,000 man, I'm a 2,000 man
I'm a 2,000 man, I'm a 2,000 man
