WIYE-LD is the low-powered, CBS-affiliated television station for the Mid-Ohio Valley that is licensed to Parkersburg, West Virginia. It broadcasts a high definition digital signal on UHF channel 47 from a transmitter in Independence Township, Ohio. The station can also be seen on Suddenlink channel 5 (SD) and channel 105 (HD). Owned by Gray Television, the station is sister to NBC affiliate WTAP-TV and low-powered Fox affiliate WOVA-LD. All three television outlets share studios on Market Street (official address is One Television Plaza) in downtown Parkersburg. Syndicated programming on this station includes Frasier, Access Hollywood, Extra, and Family Feud among others. It operates the market's MyNetworkTV affiliate on a second digital subchannel and Suddenlink digital channel 97. Although associated with WTAP's news department, there are currently no local newscasts produced exclusively for WIYE and/or any simulcasted from the NBC outlet.
On April 10, 2012, then-owner Wood Investments LLC announced it was selling WWVX-LP (the station's former callsign) and WVEX-LP (the former callsign of WOVA) to Gray Television for $66,000. Gray changed the callsign of WWVX-LP to WIYE-LP on June 19, 2012, and changed its city of license from Marietta to Parkersburg. On July 17, 2012, Gray Television signed an affiliation agreement with CBS for WIYE and two other low-power stations acquired by Gray around the same time period as its acquisition of WIYE. As a result, WIYE-LP/LD became the CBS affiliate for the Mid-Ohio Valley on September 3, 2012.
WIYE-LD2 is the MyNetworkTV/Me-TV-affiliated television station for the Mid-Ohio Valley. The station is a second digital subchannel of low-powered CBS affiliate WIYE-LD that is owned by Gray Television. Over-the-air, it broadcasts a standard definition digital signal on UHF channel 47.2 from a transmitter in Independence Township, Ohio. It can also be seen on Suddenlink and CAS Cable channel 5 (hence the on-air branding My 5).
WIYE-LD2's parent station shares studios with NBC affiliate WTAP-TV and low-powered Fox affiliate WOVA-LD on Market Street (official address is One Television Plaza) in downtown Parkersburg, West Virginia. Syndicated programming on this station includes The Office, How I Met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men, and The Big Bang Theory among others. Overnight, it airs a live Doppler weather radar feed seen during weather forecasting segments on WTAP's newscasts. It also carries programming from Me-TV.
On April 10, 2006, WTAP launched a third digital subchannel to serve as the area's first locally based UPN affiliate. This could be seen on UHF channel 47.3 (or virtual channel 15.3 via PSIP). To make the service possible, WTAP underwent a technical transformation. It carved out a new digital control rooms from space previously used for storage. The station also installed entirely digital production and master control rooms. After UPN merged with The WB to form The CW in September 2006, WTAP-DT3 transitioned from UPN to Fox's new sister network, MyNetworkTV. On September 3, 2012, the station moved to a new second subchannel of WIYE.
Do ya... wanna do some crack?
Do ya wanna drop a log?
Do ya prefer to pick your nose?
Or would ya rather mouse a hog?
The bathroom is a holy place
I can wack-off without disgrace
What! There's no paper? I don't care
I'll wipe my ass with my underwear
The bathroom is a holy place
I can wack-off without disgrace
There's so many games to play in here
Like "Bombs away in the hollow chair"
It's a place I can think
Projects chunks in the sink
So many things to do in there
You can't see me - so I don't care
