The Wauja are an indigenous people of Brazil. They are Aruak speakers, who live in the region near the Upper Xingu River. They had a population of 487 in 2010.
The Wauja and Mehinako, two Aruak-speaking tribes native to the Upper Xingu River, are likely descendants of various tribes which came into the region in roughly the 9th or 10th century CE. Archaeological records going back to the time between 1000 and 1600 suggest that the people living in the region were mostly sedentary, with relatively large communities. These villages were built around a central plaza, and were defended with ditches and palisades. Archaeological evidence from the region suggests a strong relationship with a band of Aruak tribes stretching from the Upper Xingu to modern day Bolivia. It is unknown what sort of relationship the Aruak-speaking people of the Upper Xingu River had with other, Carib-speaking tribes, although the current multiethnic order in the region was in place by the 18th century.
WKBM (930 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Catholic format. Licensed to Sandwich, Illinois, USA, the station serves the Chicago area. The station is currently owned by Starboard Media Foundation.
The station was originally licensed in 1986, and held the callsign WBYG. On April 11, 1988, the station's callsign was changed to WAUR. From the late 1980s until 1990 aired a Full service/Country music format. In 1990 the station began airing a Full service/Oldies format, which it aired until its sale to the Children's Broadcasting Corporation.
In January 1997, the station was acquired by Children's Broadcasting Corporation and became the Chicago affiliate of the "Radio AAHS" network, airing children's programming. After Radio AAHS discontinued operations in January 1998, Children's Broadcasting Corporation, WAUR's owner, needed programming for the ten CBC-owned and operated Radio AAHS stations until it could find buyers. In February 1998, WAUR, along with the other nine CBC stations, became an outlet for "Beat Radio", which broadcast electronic dance music 12 hours a day until late October 1998. In late 1998, the station was sold to Catholic Radio Network, later known as Catholic Family Radio, and it began airing a Catholic oriented talk format.
If you had a room, he'd paint it white,
survives the day, prefers the night,
build sight.
Got a head for figures,
no time for bickers,
(or so he says,)
prefers the company of a woman.
Finds it more physical,
(that's an important word,)
always seen first then heard,
such a rare bird.
With praise he glows,
with change he grows,
finds that important,
hates waiting, it's not stimulating,
likes celebrating,
I can't understand why that is so funny,
