Voyeurism is the sexual interest in or practice of spying on people engaged in intimate behaviors, such as undressing, sexual activity, or other actions usually considered to be of a private nature.
The voyeur does not normally interact directly with the subject of his/her interest, who is often unaware of being observed. The essence of voyeurism is the observing but may also involve the making of a secret photograph or video of the subject during an intimate activity.
The term comes from the French voyeur which means "one who looks". A male voyeur is commonly labeled as "Peeping Tom", a term which originates from the Lady Godiva legend. However, that term is usually applied to a male who observes somebody secretly and, generally, not in a public place.
Although spy cameras small enough to fit inside a pocket-watch had existed since the 1880s, advances in miniaturization and electronics since the 1950s have greatly aided the ability to conceal miniature cameras, and the quality and affordability of tiny cameras (often called "spy cameras" or subminiature cameras) has now greatly increased. Some consumer digital cameras are now so small that in previous decades they would have qualified as "spy cameras", and digital cameras of twenty megapixels or more are now being embedded in some mobile camera phones. The majority of mobile phones in use are camera phones.
Dude Ranch is the second studio album by American pop punk band Blink-182. Recorded at Big Fish Studios in Encinitas, California with producer Mark Trombino, the album was released in the United States on June 17, 1997, jointly through independent label Cargo Music and major label MCA Records. MCA signed the band in 1996 following moderate sales of their debut Cheshire Cat (1995) and growing popularity of the trio in Australia. Dude Ranch was the band's final recording released on Cargo and their last with original drummer Scott Raynor before he was dismissed from the band in 1998.
The band recorded the album during the winter of 1996–1997. With lyrical material written on the band's nonstop tours over the previous years, as well as completed songs, the band recorded with Trombino in sessions that lasted for five weeks. During the production for Dude Ranch, the members of Blink-182 were plagued with difficulties only made worse by the rushed schedule: bassist Mark Hoppus and guitarist Tom DeLonge, co-vocalists for the band, were having vocal problems and Raynor had to record his drum tracks with both heels broken, on crutches.
Voyeur is the debut album by American band Saint Motel, released on July 10, 2012 through OnThe Records. The album was recorded at the band's Los Angeles studio as well as Crown City Recordings.
KCRW said of the album "They have attacked it with gusto on Voyeur, adding dynamic touches to their rock-solid core of songwriting" and that "Overall the album is a satisfying package from start to finish".
Mark Jenkins of the Washington Post reviewed the album, "Channeling British glam-pop as only a Los Angeles band can, Saint Motel makes chic and sprightly music with hints of ironic malevolence." He also noted, "At times, the music can be almost too ecstatic, threatening to leave the listener behind."
Rosenstolz (German pronunciation: [ˈʁoːzənʃtɔlts]) was a German pop duo from Berlin that was active between 1991 and 2012 and had chart hits in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The duo consisted of singer AnNa R. and musician Peter Plate, who occasionally provided vocals. Rosenstolz achieved major chart success after the nineties, with five studio albums going to No. 1 in the German albums chart. Although the duo split up to pursue separate music careers, they left open the possibility of a future reunion.
Rosenstolz's music was described by critics as containing elements of various genres, including pop and chanson. However, comparisons with schlager were strongly disputed by the duo, who defined themselves simply as a pop group. Rosenstolz's repertoire included ballads and quirky pop songs, though later years saw the duo eschewing their quirky side. Common themes in the songs written by Rosenstolz were sex, love and emotions.
Prior to the formation of Rosenstolz, native Berliner AnNa R. had ambitions of becoming a bar singer, whereas Plate was a member of a short-lived band while living in Braunschweig. The duo first met shortly after Plate had moved to Berlin in December 1990. They were put in contact with each other by the landlord of Plate's flat, who knew that singer AnNa R. was looking for a pianist and that keyboard player Plate needed a singer. The duo first met in AnNa R.'s flat and went on to Plate's flat the same evening, where they recorded a song together.
Weiss genau dass du mich siehst
Weiss genau wie dir geschieht
Siehst mich an - Schaust mir zu
Ich bin hier
du weit weg
Doch ich fühl´ es
ganz genau
Siehst mich an - Schaust mir zu
Es ist fast wie Berührung
Wenn ich mich vor dir liebe
seltsam schon - ungewohnt
Du schaust von nebenan
Weiss genau dass ich dich will
Doch die Ferne reicht dir aus
Ich mach Licht
dass du mich siehst
Ich bin hier
Schau zu dir
uns´re Gläser sind sich nah
Siehst mich an - Schaust mir zu
Es ist fast wie Berührung
Wenn ich mich vor dir liebe
seltsam schon - ungewohnt
Du schaust von nebenan
Es ist fast wie Verführung
Was ich dir alles biete
seltsam schön - ungewohnt
Was bist du für ein Mann
