Voicemail

Voice Mail System (also known as voice mail, voice message or voice bank) is a computer based system that allows users and subscribers to exchange personal voice messages; to select and deliver voice information; and to process transactions relating to individuals, organizations, products and services, using an ordinary telephone. The term is also used more broadly to denote any system of conveying a stored telecommunications voice messages, including using an answering machine. Most cell phone services offer voice-mail as a basic feature, many corporate PBXs include versatile internal voice-messaging services and *98 Vertical service code subscription is available to most individual and small business land line subscribers.

History of voicemail

The term Voicemail was coined by Televoice International (later became Voicemail International) for introduction of the first nationwide Voicemail® service in 1980.  Although VMI trademarked the term, it eventually became a generic term used for referring to virtually all automated voice services employing a telephone.  Voicemail popularity continues today with Internet telephone services such as Skype, Google Voice and ATT that integrate voice, voicemail and text services for tablets and smartphones

Voice Mail (album)

Voice Mail is a studio album recorded by John Wetton. Originally released in Japan-only in 1994. It was re-released in Europe under the title Battle Lines with the same content but a different cover. Musically, the style of the album somewhat resembles that of Wetton's band Asia.

Battle Lines is title of the 1995 Europe re-release of Voice Mail, Wetton's 1992 album. The album was released on August 15, 1995. The re-release garnered a new cover and bonus track.

History

Recognized for their intro trademarks, "You've got mail - VoiceMail" and "Heyeee"; Voice Mail were founded in 2003, and had a chart hit in Jamaica with "Weddy Time". They made a succession of videos for songs such as "Gal Hunt", "Weddy Time", "She Want It Harder", "Ready To Party" and "Wacky Dip", in addition to features on the Strip Tease riddim and Klymaxx riddim medley videos. They have performed at Spring Fest 2004, Sumfest 2004 and 2005, Fully Loaded plus undertaken worldwide touring.

The trio met at a local talent show. Originally the band included two additional members: Robert Manning and Leonardo Grant, all committing themselves to a recording career in 1999. However those two moved on, and by 2003, the trio began to actively record with record producers. Their first recording was with radio personality and producer Arif Cooper, on "Never Really Want To Let You Go".
