Dilate (musical project)

Dilate was an ambient solo project begun in 1996 by keyboard player Victor Wulf.

History

Wulf began writing music in 1977. After working with experimental industrial band Vampire Rodents, he released his first album under the name Dilate, Cyclos, in early 1996. The follow-up, Octagon, was released in mid-1997. Both albums were released by Cleopatra Records.

Reception

Octagon has been described as "deep sonic environmental minimalism" as well as good for meditation. Wulf has been called the "gentler half" of Vampire Rodents.

Wulf

Wulf (Common Germanic wulfaz "wolf") was one of the most prolific elements in early Germanic names. It could figure as the first element in dithematic names, as in Wulfstan, but especially as second element, in the form -ulf, -olf as in Cynewulf, Rudolph, Adolph etc., it was extremely common. Förstemann explains this as originally motivated by the wolf as an animal sacred to Wodanaz, but notes that the large number of names indicates that the element had become a meaningless suffix of male names at an early time (and was therefore not anymore considered a "pagan" element at the time of Christianisation. By the tenth century, there was clearly no "pagan" connotation left with such names, and saints and bishops bore names such as Wulfstan or Wolfgang).

Förstemann counts 381 names in -ulf, -olf, among which only four are feminine.

Hypocorisms

The numerous names in -wulf, -ulf, -olf gave rise to hypocorisms from an early time, which were later also treated as given names in their own right. Among such names are the Anglo-Saxon Offa, Yffe, Uffa, Wuffa. Corresponding continental forms are Uffo, Uffi. The name of the ancient tribe of the Ubii may also be related.

This is a list of cartoon characters from the Nickelodeon animated television series Danny Phantom. The series centers on young Danny Fenton and his coming-of-age story as a half-ghost superhero to the town of Amity Park. He gradually grows, bettering himself and his powers over the course of the story as he deals with ghosts, balancing his normal and heroic life, a community that does not initially trust him, and later, fame and praise from across the country.

WULF

WULF (94.3 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Country music format. Licensed to Hardinsburg, Kentucky, USA, the station is currently owned by Skytower Communications - 94.3, LLC and features programming from Premiere Radio Networks and Westwood One.

History

The station went on the air as WHIC-FM on 1979-03-23. On 1995-05-24, the station changed its call sign to the current WULF.

List of Crash Bandicoot series characters

Crash Bandicoot is a series of platform video games published by Activision. The series was formerly developed by Naughty Dog from 1996 to 1999, and by Traveller's Tales, Eurocom and Vicarious Visions from 2000 to 2004. The series features a large cast of distinctively quirky characters designed by numerous different artists, the most notable of which include Charles Zembillas and Joe Pearson. In addition, it features an all-star cast of veteran voice actors.

The series centers on the conflicts between a mutated bandicoot named Crash Bandicoot and his creator, Doctor Neo Cortex. Crash acts as the main playable character of the series, though other characters have had occasional player access, most notable Coco Bandicoot and Doctor Neo Cortex, as well as Crunch Bandicoot. Out of the numerous characters in the series (numbering over sixty), only a few have significantly contributed to the story of the series.

Aku Aku

Aku Aku, also known as Holiugd, is the guardian of the Wumpa Islands and the father figure of Crash Bandicoot and his friends. Aku Aku is the spirit of an ancient witch doctor encased in a floating, wooden mask. During Crash's missions to stop Doctor Cortex, he scattered copies of himself throughout the travels in an effort to aid him in his mission. Whenever Crash possesses an Aku Aku mask, he will be shielded from one enemy attack or contact. Collecting three Aku Aku masks gives Crash temporary invulnerability from all minor dangers, but does not protect from falling down holes. In his English speaking appearances, he is voiced by Mel Winkler up to Crash Twinsanity, and Greg Eagles in Crash of the Titans and Crash: Mind over Mutant. In the Japanese versions of his speaking appearances, he is voiced by Kenichi Ogata up to Crash Twinsanity.

Victor (steamboat 1893)

Victor was a steam-powered tugboat built in 1893 in Tacoma, Washington. This vessel should not be confused with the similarly named Victor II, also active in Puget Sound.

Career

Victor was active in Puget Sound and was operated, at least for a time, by the Hunt Brothers, a family of steamboat owners and operators. As of the year 1900, the vessel was employed on the route from Tacoma to Gig Harbor in southern Puget Sound. At some point the vessel was converted to diesel power.

"Put Your Head on My Shoulders" is episode seven in the second production season of Futurama. It originally aired in North America on February 13, 2000 as the seventh episode of the second broadcast season. The episode was written by Ken Keeler and directed by Chris Louden. The episode focuses on a romantic relationship between Fry and Amy.

Plot

Amy buys a car at Malfunctioning Eddie's Rocket-car Emporium, and Fry joins her on a road trip to Mercury that leads to a long wait for a tow truck after they run out of gas. Then, she and Fry begin dating after making love on the return trip. Meanwhile, Bender refuses to get the recommended safety features installed on his "ass" and is warned that his "ass" could explode at any time.

With Valentine's Day approaching, Bender decides to start a computer dating service. Fry worries that he and Amy are spending too much time together, and asks Leela to come with them on a picnic to Europa they had planned. When she refuses, Fry asks Zoidberg to come with them. Zoidberg comes with them, but when Fry asks him to drive, he accidentally pulls the wheel off, crashing the car. Fry wakes up to find Zoidberg telling him that his body was badly damaged in the crash. Fry, in shock, discovers his head was grafted onto Amy's shoulder in order to be kept alive. After returning to Earth, Fry breaks up with an unwilling Amy, and she makes Valentine's Day plans with another man.
