Trapt

Trapt is an American rock band that formed in Los Gatos, California in 1995, best known for their 2002 single "Headstrong". The group consists of lead vocalist Chris Taylor Brown, bassist Peter "Pete" Charell, drummer Dylan Thomas Howard, and guitarist Ty Fury. They have released six studio albums to date: Amalgamation, Trapt, Someone in Control, Only Through the Pain, No Apologies and Reborn.

History

Formation and early years (1995–1999)

The members of Trapt met in high school in the mid-'90s and shortly thereafter developed an act with Chris Taylor Brown (lead vocals), Simon Ormandy (guitar), Peter "Pete" Charell (bass), and David Stege (drums). The band's first few rehearsals were in Ormandy's guesthouse, which had a party-like atmosphere with its loft overlooking the living room. They began playing at local venues in 1997 before any members had graduated high school. The band received a great response and a positive buzz soon started to grow. In 1998, still before graduation, they were already opening for up-and-coming fellow acts like Papa Roach. They recorded and released their first CD, Amalgamation in 1999, which they sold at their live shows. Their second release, the Glimpse EP, came in 2000, and another EP, 2001's self-titled Trapt, served as the band's demo. Between the strength of these releases and the successes in touring, they were able to garner major record label attention.

Trapt (video game)

Trapt, stylized as TЯAPT and released in Japan as Kagero II: Dark Illusion (影牢II: Dark Illusion), is an action video game with strategy game elements by Tecmo for the PlayStation 2. The game includes a number of features that are also used in Deception, an earlier game from Tecmo.

The player assumes the role of Princess Allura, who has been framed for the murder of her father, King Olaf. On the night of the King's murder, Allura is accused of killing him by her stepmother, Catalina. With the help of her friend Rachel, Allura is able to escape into a forest. On the run from assassins, she acquires the ability to set a series of traps, which are the only means she has of defending herself from her pursuers.

Gameplay

Players begin by equipping and making traps for Allura to take with her into the game mission. Each mission starts in a specific room, where players can position traps in order to defeat enemies. The traps are classified into three types according to where they can be positioned within the game world (wall, ceiling, and floor). The player is allowed to take up to three traps of each type into a game stage, and additional traps can be obtained by completing the game. Enemies' life bars are shown at the top of the screen, while Allura's life bar and active traps are shown at the bottom left and right respectively. As the player defeats enemies they are rewarded with "warl", the game's currency, which can be used to purchase new traps between missions. Players may also purchase room keys, which allow Allura to access other rooms in the game missions. Apart from the main story missions, the game also includes several "side stories", which are optional missions that give different angles and insights into the game's main story. There are three official endings in the game, and a fourth that is not registered when saved onto the game file.

Trapt (album)

Trapt is the second studio album and major label debut by the rock band Trapt. With three hit singles, the album ascended to #42 on the Billboard 200 album sales chart. It was certified gold by the RIAA on May 15, 2003 then platinum on November 24 of that same year, making it Trapt's most successful album to date. By 2005, the album had sold 1.5 million copies in the U.S.

In an interview with VH1, Chris Taylor Brown stated the picture of a man mowing a lawn was selected to show the choices and results an individual can make in life. He elaborated, "Everyone has this path they think they should take - it's the safe route. You go to college; you wake up everyday [sic] and mow the lawn; and go to work for eight or nine hours a day. We didn't want to do that. We wanted to say that you don't have to do what everyone else does. It was an eerie picture, like it was straight out of American Beauty. So we thought it was cool to have on the front."

Victim is a 2011 British urban action drama film directed by Alex Pillai, written by Ashley Chin and Michael Maris, stars Ashley Chin, Ashley Madekwe, Jason Maza, and co-stars Adam Deacon,David Harewood and Giggs. The film is about a young man's attempts to move away from a life of violent crime, with the help of a wholesome country girl who comes to stay with his friend in the city, only to find himself the target of retaliation.

Plot

Tyson (Ashley Chin), Mannie (Jason Maza) and Jason (Michael Maris) grew up together in a tough inner-city world in London's East End, where no one could be trusted and everyone was out for themselves. With opportunities limited, it is crime that pays the bills and violence on the streets is how someone makes their mark. They make a living out of armed robberies with the help of eye candy Davina (Anna Nightingale) to seduce and lure drunken, unsuspecting rich City men in clubs, go back with them to their expensive flats, then Tyson and his crew move in, beat them up and steal everything.

Victim (Eighteen Visions song)

"Victim" was the second single from Eighteen Visions self-titled album. The song was featured as the theme song to WWE Vengeance, and has had much airplay on the radio stations. The CD was not released as a single, but rather as a promo, for radio, and collectors.

Meaning

In this song, James is begging the girl for forgiveness, but she denies it because she feels that she is the victim. James sings as the girl, not as himself.

"Victim" was featured on the popular sportbike freestyle video "Mass Mayhem 3". The song was originally in the Saw III soundtrack but it was instead replaced with "Your Nightmare".
