Virgil

Publius Vergilius Maro (Classical Latin: [ˈpuː.blɪ.ʊs wɛrˈɡɪ.lɪ.ʊs ˈma.roː]; October 15, 70 BC – September 21, 19 BC), usually called Virgil or Vergil /ˈvɜːrl/ in English, was an ancient Roman poet of the Augustan period. He is known for three major works of Latin literature, the Eclogues (or Bucolics), the Georgics, and the epic Aeneid. A number of minor poems, collected in the Appendix Vergiliana, are sometimes attributed to him.

Virgil is traditionally ranked as one of Rome's greatest poets. His Aeneid has been considered the national epic of ancient Rome from the time of its composition to the present day. Modeled after Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, the Aeneid follows the Trojan refugee Aeneas as he struggles to fulfill his destiny and arrive on the shores of Italy—in Roman mythology the founding act of Rome. Virgil's work has had wide and deep influence on Western literature, most notably Dante's Divine Comedy, in which Virgil appears as Dante's guide through hell and purgatory.

Vergil (Devil May Cry)

Vergil (バージル Bājiru) is a fictional character from the Devil May Cry series created and published by Capcom. He was first introduced in the first Devil May Cry as a boss called Nelo Angelo (ネロアンジェロ Nero Anjero). Vergil is one of the two hybrid sons from the famous demon knight Sparda and, as a result, possesses supernatural powers. He has appeared in two video games as an enemy opposing his twin brother Dante, as well as in a novelization and a manga of the series. As many characters in the series were named after those of the Italian poem Divine Comedy, Vergil was named after Virgil.

Vergil is voiced by Daniel Southworth in Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening and the Special Edition of Devil May Cry 4, and by David de Lautour in DmC: Devil May Cry. Nelo Angelo is voiced by David Kelley in Devil May Cry. The character has been well received by video game publications with several of them praising his role as boss as one of the best ones from the series, as well as his inclusion in the Special Edition of Devil May Cry 3.

Characters of Devil May Cry

Devil May Cry is a series of video games set in the present, developed by Capcom and created by Hideki Kamiya. The series' success has led to comic books, novelizations, an anime series, guides, collectibles and a variety of action figures.

The series centers on Dante's mission to avenge the death of his mother, Eva, by exterminating demons. In the process he encounters his long-lost twin brother, Vergil, with whom he has a dysfunctional relationship. As the series progresses a demon emperor, Mundus, is found to be responsible for the murder of Dante's mother and the enslavement of his brother. Although Dante is often the main playable character, the player also controls other characters.

The characters in Devil May Cry were conceived by Hideki Kamiya, a video-game designer with Capcom and Clover Studio. Nero and several characters in Devil May Cry 4 were created by Tatsuya Yoshikawa, who said that designing Nero was one of the greatest challenges of his career. Each game in the series introduces a new antagonist and supporting characters.

Fragile

by: Sting

If blood will flow when flesh and steel are one
Drying in the colour of the evening sun
Tomorrow's rain will wash the stains away
But something in our minds will always stay
Perhaps this final act was meant
To clinch a lifetime's argument
That nothing comes from violence and nothing ever could
For all those born beneath an angry star
Lest we forget how fragile we are
On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are how fragile we are
On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are how fragile we are
