Vayetze, Vayeitzei, or Vayetzei (וַיֵּצֵא — Hebrew for "and he left," the first word in the parashah) is the seventh weekly Torah portion (פָּרָשָׁה, parashah) in the annual Jewish cycle of Torah reading. It constitutes Genesis 28:10–32:3. The parashah is made up of 7,512 Hebrew letters, 2,021 Hebrew words, and 148 verses, and can occupy about 235 lines in a Torah Scroll (סֵפֶר תּוֹרָה, Sefer Torah).Jews read it the seventh Sabbath after Simchat Torah, generally in November or December.
The parashah tells of Jacob's travels to, life in, and return from Haran. The parashah recounts Jacob's dream of a ladder to heaven, Jacob's meeting of Rachel at the well, Jacob's time working for Laban and living with Rachel and Leah, the birth of Jacob's children, and the departure of Jacob's family from Laban.
In traditional Sabbath Torah reading, the parashah is divided into seven readings, or עליות, aliyot. In the Masoretic Text of the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible), Parashah Vayetze is unusual in that it is entirely contained in one single "open portion" (פתוחה, petuchah) (roughly equivalent to a paragraph, often abbreviated with the Hebrew letter פ (peh)). And within that single open portion, Parashah Vayetze does not have any "closed portion" (סתומה, setumah) divisions (abbreviated with the Hebrew letter ס (samekh)).
Oh my baby sais she likes me (likes me, likes me)
and I think that's all right
and my baby sais she needs me (needs me, needs me)
in the middle of the night
all right, so my baby sais she wants me (wants me, wants me)
and I know that's all right
and she sais she wants be near me (near me, near me)
every day and night (every day and night)
But sometimes she drives me crazy
and I know it's something sad (I know, I know)
but my baby's got a habit
she really gets me mad when she's fighting and again and again
My baby loves to argue (argue, argue)
in the middle of the night
Every time I'm really tired (tired, tired)
she feels like picking up the fight
in the middle of the night
She don't need reasons (reasons, reasons)
is she whatever comes away
and she can take it on forever and ever (and ever)
until the dawn of day
'til I just wanna be stay out of my way
Yes sometimes she drives me crazy
and I know it's something sad (I know, I know)
but my baby's got a habit
she really gets me mad when she's fighting and again and again
She's sorry
my baby sais she likes me (likes me, likes me)
and I think that's all right
and my baby sais she needs me (needs me, needs me)
close by her side
and I think that's alright
having her by my side
Baby loves to argue
in the middle of the night
Every time I'm really tired (tired, tired)
she feels like picking up the fight
in the middle of the night
Yes sometimes she drives me crazy
and I know it's something sad (I know, I know)
but my baby's got that habit
she really gets me mad when she's fighting and again and again
