Vaya con Dios (English - "Go with God") may refer to:
"Vaya con Dios" (translated as "Go with God") is a popular song written by Larry Russell, Inez James, and Buddy Pepper, and first recorded by Anita O'Day in December of 1952. Les Paul and Mary Ford had a no. 1 recording of the song in 1953. Members of the Western Writers of America chose it as one of the Top 100 Western songs of all time.
The most popular version of the song was recorded by Les Paul and Mary Ford. This recording was released by Capitol Records as catalog number 2486 with "Johnny (Is the Boy For Me)" as the flip side in May, 1953. It first reached the Billboard magazine Best Seller chart on June 13, 1953 and lasted thirty-one weeks on the chart, reaching number one on August 8 and remaining at number one for a total of eleven weeks. The song also reached number one on the Cash Box chart where it remained at no. 1 for five weeks.
The Les Paul and Mary Ford single reached no. 7 in the UK backed with the Les Paul instrumental composition "Deep in the Blues" as the flip side.
Vaya Con Dios (Spanish for "Go with God!") was a Belgian music act, that stood out for its mixing of styles, as well as the distinctive voice of its lead singer Dani Klein. It was one of the most successful Belgian music acts ever, having sold more than 7 million albums and more than 3 million singles.
It was founded in 1986, but since 1991 Vaya Con Dios was for the most part a one woman band, centered on singer, lyricist, band leader and (co-)producer Dani Klein, reinforced by an ever changing selection of musicians. As of 2014, Dani Klein was performing her last international tour under the Vaya Con Dios formula. Vaya Con Dios officially stopped with their last concert on Saturday 25 October 2014, in Vorst Nationaal.
Vaya Con Dios was founded in 1986 by Dirk Schoufs, Dani Klein and Willy Lambregt (known as Willy Willy). Schoufs (1962; double bass) and Lambregt (1959; guitars) were close friends, who had frequently worked as an acoustic duo. Klein (1953; lead singer, lyricist) and Lambregt had previously worked in electronic band Arbeid Adelt !, which lost momentum when band leader Marcel Vanthilt left to become an MTV Europe VJ.
After enjoying a one off performance as a trio, they decided to form Vaya Con Dios, based on shared interests in gypsy music, jazz and opera – genres they felt were underappreciated in Brussels.
I've been listening to doubt
She is all around me
Forcing her way into my heart
?Til I can?t resist, then I feel grace
Make me believe in this
Ooh, supernatural
I?ll do anything to see Your face
Ooh, supernatural
I?ll do anything, anything
I have read every verse
But yet I still search to bring down the lights
But I?m in the way and can?t comprehend
But You take me back to when I believed in this
Ooh, supernatural
I?ll do anything to see Your face
Ooh, supernatural
I?ll do anything, oh, anything
How can I begin to understand?
It could take a lifetime
Where did this journey start
And where will it go? Oh oh
Ooh, supernatural
I?ll do anything to see Your face
Ooh, supernatural
I?ll do anything, you know, anything, anything, oh
Ooh, supernatural
I?ll do anything to see Your face
Ooh, supernatural
I?ll do anything, oh, anything, ooh
