The first direct international flight from Bhopal was to Jeddah, a Hajj charter flown by Saudi Arabian Airlines on 23 October 2010.[citation needed]

With the length of the runway strip increased to 9,000 feet, it is now possible for larger aircraft to land at Bhopal.[1]
