Taking their influence from the emo greats of the 1990s and doing their best to bring that sound into a modern setting, Merit has already begun to build a name on as much raw honesty as possible in their music. In the last nine months, Merit has numerous shows with bands such as Touche Amore, Polar Bear Club, Joyce Manor, Pity Sex, Daytrader and more; as well as playing with My Iron Lung on 5 different occasions and doing a short west coast tour with I Call Fives, remaining friends with both.
