The municipality covers an area of 3.82 square kilometres (1.47 sq mi), and has a population of 204 (as at 2 October 2006).
Unčín lies approximately 23 kilometres (14 mi) east of Žďár nad Sázavou, 53 km (33 mi) north-east of Jihlava, and 141 km (88 mi) east of Prague.
