Untouched (Angel)

"Untouched" is episode 4 of season 2 in the television show Angel, originally broadcast on the WB network. In this episode, a vision from Cordelia leads Angel to Bethany, a runaway teen who possesses barely controlled telekinetic powers. Unbeknownst to Angel, Lilah has brought Bethany to Los Angeles, hoping to groom her into being an assassin for Wolfram & Hart. Lilah attempts to provoke violent episodes in Bethany in order for Wolfram and Hart to gain control of the teen. First she has her cornered in an alley by potential rapists hired by Wolfram and Hart, and then she has her sexually abusive father appear and try to take Bethany back home. Meanwhile, Darla continues to plague Angel's dreams and Angel finds himself sleeping longer and longer hours.

Plot

Lilah sneaks into Lindsey's office to rifle through his papers, but Darla is there. Darla reveals she has been using a drug called Calynthia powder to keep Angel asleep while she manipulates his dreams. Angel wakes to find Cordelia and Wesley bickering about whether they should offer to pay Gunn. Angel and Wesley begin to discuss Angel's sleeping habits, but Cordelia suddenly gets a vision that sends Angel out to save a young girl from two potential rapists. As two men are about to attack the girl, she telekinetically slides a dumpster across the alleyway and smashes the men against a wall.

Amoveo Legend

The Amoveo Legend series is an ongoing series of paranormal romance novels by author Sara Humphreys. The first book in the series was released in October 2011 by Sourcebooks Casablanca. Humphreys has commented that her inspiration to write the series stems from "her love of the genre and an increasing interest in shape-shifters".

Series synopsis

The Amoveo Legend series follows several members of the Amoveo clan, a group of supernatural beings that are capable of shape-shifting and other supernatural feats. While possessing various abilities, the members of this clan must find their mates before the age of 30 or die as a result. This has been one of the main focuses in the series, with Untamed following a female Amoveo clan member that has chosen to flee her home rather than to remain with a mate she did not choose for herself.

Reception

Reception for the series has been positive, with Untouched gaining positive reviews from Publishers Weekly and RT Book Reviews.

Fade (lighting)

In stage lighting, a fade is a gradual increase or decrease of the intensity of light projected onto the stage. The term fade-in refers to gradually changing the lighting level from complete darkness to a predetermined lighting level. A fade-out (also known as fade-to-black) refers to gradually decreasing the intensity of light until none is shining on the stage. A crossfade is when lighting levels are gradually altered from one setting to another. A fade-in is sometimes called a build, and where this terminology is used, a fade is understood to be a fade-out.

Increasing lighting intensities that are not black is referred to as a fade-up. Similarly, decreasing lighting intensities to a level above black is referred to as a fade-down.

Cross-fades are accomplished by executing fade-ups and/or fade-downs. In nearly all theatrical lighting designs, multiple lighting instruments are used to illuminate the stage at any one time. A cue refers to the recorded state of illumination for the entire stage at that time. The intensity of the lighting instruments are often altered with a single crossfade, altering the lighting state of the stage.

Fade (Staind song)

"Fade" is a song by Staind from their 2001 album Break the Cycle, released as the third single from the album in late 2001. It was the last song played on MTV before turning to CBS's broadcast following 9/11.

Chart performance

It became the second highest charting single from Break the Cycle on the Billboard Hot 100, when it peaked at No. 62. It also charted on the Modern Rock Tracks and Mainstream Rock Tracks lists, at No. 4 and No. 3, respectively.
