Unseen (album)

Unseen is the seventh studio album by Swedish melodic death metal band The Haunted.

Vocalist Peter Dolving has described the album as "Epic. Danceable. Groovy. And very very arty farty metal. With this next record we are going to be taking a piss in the general direction of all the crappy 99.9 percent of generic contemporary Mr. Goatse jerks out there".

The album cover and tracklist were revealed on January 28, 2011. The cover was done by Frode Sylthe, a friend of the band, who also did the cover to their 2004 album Revolver. The band has said that they "really like his design aesthetic, and he seems to come up with something unique every single time".

Background

The writing process for the album began in August 2009, a year after the release of Versus, and forty songs were written for the album prior to April 21, 2010 according to vocalist Peter Dolving. The album title was revealed by Dolving on December 30, 2010, at which time the album was finished except for some minor details. It was revealed that the title track "Unseen" was co-written by David Johansson of Coldtears.

! is an album by The Dismemberment Plan. It was released on October 2, 1995, on DeSoto Records. The band's original drummer, Steve Cummings, played on this album but left shortly after its release.

Album

Albums of recorded music were developed in the early 20th century, first as books of individual 78rpm records, then from 1948 as vinyl LP records played at 33 ¹⁄₃ rpm. Vinyl LPs are still issued, though in the 21st century albums sales have mostly focused on compact disc (CD) and MP3 formats. The audio cassette was a format used in the late 1970s through to the 1990s alongside vinyl.

An album may be recorded in a recording studio (fixed or mobile), in a concert venue, at home, in the field, or a mix of places. Recording may take a few hours to several years to complete, usually in several takes with different parts recorded separately, and then brought or "mixed" together. Recordings that are done in one take without overdubbing are termed "live", even when done in a studio. A boy always gets the rude finger from the school bully when he walks home from school, and does nothing about it because he doesn't have middle fingers himself. So one day, he eats a lizard's tail, and he ends up growing new fingers. However, it is not long before his fingers become more of an embarrassment than anything else.

Round the Bend

On the way to a sports game, some boys run over a dog; they try to get the dog replaced before its owners find out. They later find out it is the work of a taxidermist.

Seeshell

A boy gets a job fishing with triplet brothers. He gets a crush on their sister, though the brothers really hate it when anyone kisses her. One day, while fishing, they find a seashell that has an eye in it; whenever the shell opens, the nearest person sees a vision about something that does eventually come true.

Ugly John

Ugly John is a mutant in the Marvel Universe. The character, created by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely, first appeared in New X-Men #114 (July 2001).

Within the context of the stories, Ugly John is an Australian mutant possessed of three faces. Ugly John is rescued from the giant mutant-hunting robots known as the Sentinels by Cyclops and Wolverine of the X-Men. En route back to Westchester, the X-Men's X-Jet is shot down by more Sentinels over Central America. Captured by Cassandra Nova, the genetic twin of Professor Charles Xavier, Ugly John is to be executed but the attempt fails. To ease his suffering, Cyclops shoots John with an optic blast.

U-Go Girl

U-Go Girl (Edie Sawyer), is a mutant in the Marvel Universe, a member of X-Statix. The character, created by Peter Milligan and Mike Allred, first appeared in X-Force #116 (May 2001).

Within the context of the stories, U-Go Girl can teleport herself and others (in a radius of five feet) across the globe, although this process is physically draining. Edie becomes pregnant by a young drifter when she is fifteen, and her parents decide to raise the girl as Edie's sister rather than daughter. Edie's power of teleportation fully manifests when she first looks at her daughter's face and feels a powerful urge to "get away." She teleports to Los Angeles. Edie struggles as a waitress and an actress until she becomes smitten with X-Force leader Zeitgeist and decides to try out for the team. She perfects her "aim" with her teleportation and comes up with the codename "Tele-Girl"; she becomes U-Go Girl after she accidentally flashes a crowd during her team tryout and someone screams, "You go, girl!"
