Unica (album)

Unica (Only one) is India's ninth Studio Album. India released Unica under record label Top Stop Music which was founded by grammy winner Sergio George. The album features her 7th #1 hit on the Tropical Billboard Charts, Estupida, which made India the female with the most #1 hits on the Tropical Billboard Charts. Estupida was her first single off the album, released in two versions, one salsa and the other a ballad version. The album was released on, June 1, 2010. India's album release party was held in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Unica is the first album since Soy Diferente in 2006 to be released by La India. Unica is also the second album to be produced by George under his newly independent record label, Top Stop Music. George has worked with India since her 2nd album Dicen Que Soy during the RMM years. The first single, Estupida, was released on February 23, 2010 and reached #1 on Latin Tropical Airplay. The album also includes two covers such as Smile and Crying.

! is an album by The Dismemberment Plan. It was released on October 2, 1995, on DeSoto Records. The band's original drummer, Steve Cummings, played on this album but left shortly after its release.

Album

Albums of recorded music were developed in the early 20th century, first as books of individual 78rpm records, then from 1948 as vinyl LP records played at 33 ¹⁄₃ rpm. Vinyl LPs are still issued, though in the 21st century albums sales have mostly focused on compact disc (CD) and MP3 formats. The audio cassette was a format used in the late 1970s through to the 1990s alongside vinyl.

An album may be recorded in a recording studio (fixed or mobile), in a concert venue, at home, in the field, or a mix of places. Recording may take a few hours to several years to complete, usually in several takes with different parts recorded separately, and then brought or "mixed" together. Recordings that are done in one take without overdubbing are termed "live", even when done in a studio. Studios are built to absorb sound, eliminating reverberation, so as to assist in mixing different takes; other locations, such as concert venues and some "live rooms", allow for reverberation, which creates a "live" sound. The majority of studio recordings contain an abundance of editing, sound effects, voice adjustments, etc. With modern recording technology, musicians can be recorded in separate rooms or at separate times while listening to the other parts using headphones; with each part recorded as a separate track.

Mateba Autorevolver

The Mateba Model 6 Unica (often known simply as the Mateba or the Mateba Autorevolver) is a recoil operated semi-automatic revolver, one of only a few of this type ever produced. It was developed by Mateba, based in Pavia, Italy.

Emilio Ghisoni (d. 2008) is listed as the owner of US Patent #4,712,466 which details the operation of the weapon.

Design

The Mateba Model 6 uses the recoil from firing to rotate the cylinder and cock the hammer, unlike conventional revolvers, which depend on the user physically pulling the trigger and/or cocking the hammer to actuate the weapon's mechanism of operation.

The Mateba Autorevolver's barrel alignment is different from most other revolvers. The barrel is aligned with the bottom of the cylinder instead of the top. This lowers the bore axis (line of the barrel) which directs the recoil in line with the shooter's hand thereby reducing the twisting motion or muzzle flip of normal revolvers.

The gun's entire upper assembly (barrel, cylinder and frame) are mounted on rails on the lower frame, which houses the trigger, hammer, and grip, and recoils 1/2 of an inch, or 12.7mm, on firing. The rearward motion of the upper assembly cocks the hammer, and the cylinder is rotated on the forward stroke.

UNiCA (band)

ÚNiCA (formerly as Maldita), is a Zamboangueño-Filipino pop and rock band consisting of Demz Espinosa as the main vocalist and Whey Guevara as the guitarist and composer who formed in 2009. Their first single, "¿Por qué?" became a hit song, which was originally in Zamboangueño Chavacano then later recorded in Tagalog.

Formation (2009)

Whey Guevara's need for an outlet for his compositions made him look for an avenue to turn his written material into something that could entertain the public. He eventually paired up with Paulo Sungsai, and conceived of the now well-known band, Maldita, with its first vocalist Alyson Tracy Ybarlei. With the help of Q-Zack of Comic Relief and Michael Tordecillas of Bad Grass, the band performed at Barangay Culianan, Zamboanga City with "sessionistas", and with Michael as Maldita's drummer. Through this exposure, the band was able to raise enough capital to produce their first single.
