The third and final season of Under the Dome, an American science fiction television drama series, premiered on CBS on June 25, 2015, and concluded on September 10, 2015. Based on the novel of the same name written by Stephen King, Under the Dome stars Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lefevre, Dean Norris, Alexander Koch and Colin Ford.

The show's third season is produced by Amblin Television, Baer Bones, and CBS Television Studios, and was developed for television by Brian K. Vaughan and Stephen King. Neal Baer serves as show runner since Vaughan exited the series after the second season premiere. Production began on March 11, 2015 and ended on August 7, 2015.

After airing on Mondays for the first two seasons, the show moved to Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET for the third season where it received an average of 1.0/4 in the 18–49 demographic and 4.70 million viewers over its thirteen episode run.

Premise

When a massive, transparent, indestructible dome suddenly separates the small town of Chester’s Mill from the rest of the world, the people trapped inside must find their own ways to survive.

Under the Dome is an American science-fiction drama television series. It premiered on CBS on June 24, 2013, and concluded on September 10, 2015. The series was developed by Brian K. Vaughan and based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King. In the first season, Vaughan and King served as executive producers along with Neal Baer, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Jack Bender, Steven Spielberg, and Stacey Snider. Danish director Niels Arden Oplev produced and directed the pilot. Baer serves as the showrunner for the series. Vaughan exited the series before the premiere of season two.

On August 31, 2015, CBS cancelled Under the Dome after three seasons due to low ratings.

Synopsis

Under the Dome tells the story of the residents of the fictional small town of Chester's Mill where a massive, transparent, seemingly indestructible dome suddenly cuts them off from the rest of the world. With no Internet access, no mobile signals and limited radio communication, the people trapped inside must find their own ways to survive with diminishing resources and rising tensions. While military forces, the government, and the media positioned outside of this surrounding barrier attempt to break it down, a small group of people inside attempt to figure out what the dome is, where it came from, and if (and when) it will go away.
