Loki? (album)

Loki? is the first solo album from Arnaldo Baptista, the keyboardist, bassist and singer of the Brazilian band Os Mutantes. It was released in 1974 after a supposed nervous breakdown and it is considered one of the best albums in the 1970s Brazilian music scene. The album expresses his angst towards the height of post-modern society, along with the suffocating aspect of modernity: pollution, superpopulation, loneliness, etc.

It was listed by Rolling Stone Brazil at #34 on the list of 100 Greatest Brazilian Albums of All Time.

The Mask

The Mask is a Dark Horse comic book series created by writer Mike Richardson, the artist Mark Badger, John Arcudi and Doug Mahnke. The series follows a magical mask which imbues the wearer with reality-bending powers and physical imperviousness, as well as bypassing the wearer's psychological inhibitions. It was adapted into the 1994 film The Mask, starring Jim Carrey, which was followed by an animated television series voiced by Rob Paulsen and a stand-alone sequel made in 2005, Son of the Mask.

Overview

In all versions the story initially revolves around a magical mask which gives any wearer limitless power and an altered appearance, characterized by a large set of teeth and a green head. The mask affects the personality of the wearer by removing all personal social inhibitions, causing the wearer to become insane. The book was inspired by a combination of earlier characters: The Joker and Steve Ditko's Creeper, as well as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. In the original comic stories, characters who wore the Mask would become dangerous and cruel antiheroes with ultraviolent tendencies, even if this was not the wearer's original intention. When adapted into a film, the violence was toned down to make the Mask only as dangerous as its wearer. In both the 1994 film and animated television show, the main character Stanley Ipkiss was depicted as a benevolent yet mischievous superhero. The same is true of the 2005 sequel's main character Tim Avery, who is named after Tex Avery.

Unconditional (Clay Davidson album)

Unconditional is the only album by American country music artist Clay Davidson, released in 2000 on Virgin Records Nashville. Its title track was a Top 5 hit on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) charts in 2000. "I Can't Lie to Me" and "Sometimes" were also released from this album, both charting in the Top 30 on the same chart. Jude Cole and Scott Hendricks produced the album, with additional production from Chris Farren on "What Was I Thinking Of".

Critical reception

William Ruhlmann of Allmusic rated the album three stars, comparing its sound to southern rock on some tracks but saying "there's nothing here that's particularly striking from a creative standpoint."Entertainment Weekly critic Alanna Nash rated it B+, comparing Davidson's vocals to Delbert McClinton and calling the album "a tender-tough charmer."

Prism (Katy Perry album)

Prism is the fourth studio album by American singer Katy Perry. It was released by Capitol Records on October 18, 2013. While the album was initially planned to be "darker" than her previous material, Prism ultimately became a prominently dance-inspired record. The singer worked with several past collaborators, while enlisting new producers and guest vocals. Much of Prism revolves around the themes of living in the present, relationships, and self-empowerment. The album's success continued throughout 2014, ranking within the top 10 of the annual charts for 2014 in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, and earned Perry a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards.

Unconditional (Harrison Craig song)

"Unconditional" a song recorded by American singer-songwriter Ne-Yo for his fifth studio album R.E.D. (2012). It was written by Ne-Yo, Allen Arthur, Clayton Reilly and Keith Justice; the latter three also produced the song under their production moniker, PhatBoize.

In 2013, Harrison Craig, winner of the second series of The Voice in Australia, recorded a version of the song for his debut album More than a Dream. On 18 June 2013, "Unconditional" was released as Craig's first single.

Live performance

Craig first performed the song on the series' grand final after he was declared the winner.
