ZOEgirl is an American Christian teen pop and pop rock band formed in 1999. The group comprised Chrissy Conway-Katina, Alisa Childers and Kristin Swinford-Schweain. They were signed to Sparrow Records from 1999 to 2006 and released their debut single "I Believe" in 2000. This song and their self-titled debut album ZOEgirl helped them become Sparrow's fastest selling artist of all time. With All of My Heart, the lead single for Life, was the group's only No. 1 Christian contemporary hit radio (CHR) single and led to the group receiving a GMA Dove Award for New Artist of the Year in 2002. By the end of 2003, over one million albums from ZOEgirl were sold.
As a response to the musical trends of the time, ZOEgirl changed their format from teen pop to pop rock with the release of "You Get Me" in 2003. Released as the lead single for their third album, Different Kind of Free, this was their only No. 1 Christian adult contemporary (AC) single. It also peaked at No. 2 on CHR, making it the second-highest ZOEgirl song on that chart. The group's musical change and the growing digital piracy at the time led to slower sales of ZOEgirl's music. Their highly anticipated fourth and final studio album Room to Breathe earned the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Top Heatseekers Album charts. It was ZOEgirl's least successful album in terms of US Christian radio airplay, with only "About You" and "Scream" released as singles and the latter being unsuccessful. Both songs were better received in Australia.
ZOEgirl, released in 2000, is the first studio album from Christian girl group ZOEgirl. It was released on August 15, 2000 through Sparrow Records. "I Believe", "Anything Is Possible", "No You" and "Living For You" were released as radio singles.
After the ZOEgirl group was formed, they immediately began to work on their self-titled album at a fast pace. They temporarily separated during the Christmas holidays of 1999 to pray about the album and the message they should record on it. After this, they realized that they wanted to talk about their relationships with God and the romantic relationships that people may face in life. Producers remarked that paper, drafting the debut album's content, was scattered all around the studio.
When the album's musical content was finished, ZOEgirl traveled to New York City to meet with a stylist for fashion suggestions regarding a photo shoot. After they agreed on what to wear, they traveled to Los Angeles, California for an entire photo shoot day. It is unknown whether the music video was also recorded in this city, but the similarities between the album art and the music video seem to suggest this to be true.
"Unbroken" is a song performed by Australian-New Zealand recording artist Stan Walker. Written and produced by OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder, the song was released by Sony Music Australia on 12 April 2010 as the lead single from Walker's second album, From the Inside Out. Walker felt privileged to record a song written by Tedder and complimented him, "He's the man, one of the best songwriters and producers in the world. I am so blessed." The piano-based pop ballad received a mixed response from critics.
"Unbroken" was promoted by performances on Sunrise and Hey Hey It's Saturday and a Matthew Chuang-directed music video, filmed in Melbourne. The single peaked at number nine on the New Zealand Singles Chart and number twenty-three on the ARIA Singles Chart, and lasted thirteen and seventeen weeks on the charts, respectively.
"Unbroken" was written and produced by OneRepublic leader Ryan Tedder, who was behind singles such as Beyoncé Knowles' "Halo" (2009) and Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love" (2007). "Unbroken" was recorded at Artisan Studios in Birmingham, England, and Phil Tan mixed the record at Soapbox Studios, Atlanta, Georgia. Walker was honoured by the opportunity to record a piece of Tedder's work. Walker told the Daily Telegraph, "It is a privilege for me to record a song by the guy who wrote 'Halo' for Beyoncé and 'Bleeding Love' for Leona. He's the man, one of the best songwriters and producers in the world. I am so blessed." In an interview with MTV Australia he said, "The song is so amazing. When I first heard the song I was like this is a beat song and then I read the lyrics and that's what won me over because it talks about my life, being nothing and being in pieces, but then becoming unbroken." "Unbroken" is a piano-driven pop music ballad, and features a repetitive chorus.
Unbroken is the third studio album by Irish boy band D-Side. The album was released on October 25, 2006 in Japan, and later released via the iTunes Store worldwide on March 3, 2008. The album peaked at number 58 on the Japanese album charts. Two singles were released from the album: the title track, "Unbroken", and "Let Me Be the One" (which serves as a promotional release only; no official music video was recorded for the song).
"No One" was an unreleased track written by Bryan Adams. The album features writing contributions from a number of well-known songwriters, including two songs penned by Steve Mac and Wayne Hector ("Missing You" and "Then You Kissed Me"; the latter of which was an unreleased song by fellow boyband Westlife). The album's title track was also co-written by Phil Thornalley, famous for his work on Natalie Imbruglia's debut "Left of the Middle". The band co-wrote the mid-tempo ballad "Fly" with songwriter Kai McKenzie, who produced several tracks for the album. The original Japanese release includes four tracks omitted from the worldwide digital release, including the Mac-Hector "Then You Kissed Me".
Unbroken is the second full length release from Canadian heavy metal band A Perfect Murder.
1...2...3...
To be unbroken
To be unbroken
Fallen to pieces
(I am undone)
The things you said
(Manipulation)
I trusted you like a fool
While you made all the rules
So you searched me out
And you took me down
To be unbroken, what would that be?
If words that were spoken, had not shattered me
If I was unbroken, I'd never know
The beauty of hope, and how far grace will go
To be unbroken
To be unbroken
The things you found
(To use against me)
Have lost their sound
(When mercy ensoothed me)
I fell to the Father's feet
His words washed all over me
And all the scars you made
Watch them fade away
To be unbroken, what would that be?
If words that were spoken, had not shattered me
If I was unbroken, I'd never know
The beauty of hope, and how far grace will go
To be unbroken
To be unbroken
I've tasted bitter, tasted sweet
Embraced the victory, and some defeat
I've tasted bitter, tasted sweet
I found the beauty in the place they meet
To be unbroken, what would that be?
If words that were spoken, had not shattered me
If I was unbroken, I'd never know
The beauty of hope, and how far grace will go
To be unbroken
To be unbroken
To be unbroken, what would that be?
If words that were spoken, had not shattered me
If I was unbroken, I'd never know
The beauty of hope, and how far grace will go
To be unbroken
To be unbroken
To be unbroken
