Route 4 (Shuto Expressway)

Route 4 (also known as the Shinjuku Route) is one of the radial routes of the Shuto Expressway system in the Tokyo area. Route 4 runs west from Miyakezaka Junction (with the Inner Circular Route) in Chiyoda-ku and runs for 8.44 miles (13.5 km) through Shinjuku-ku, Shibuya-ku, and Suginami-ku. The Route 4 designation ends at the Takaido Interchange and the expressway continues as the intercity Chūō Expressway to Nagoya via Yamanashi and Nagano Prefecture.

West Virginia Route 4

West Virginia Route 4 is a north–south state highway located within and maintained by the U.S. state of West Virginia. The western terminus is at U.S. Route 119 in Clendenin. The northern terminus of the route is at West Virginia Route 20 in Rock Cave.

The road connects several towns in the central part of the state. WV 4 is concurrent with U.S. Route 19 from Flatwoods to Ireland.

WV 4 used to extend across the state, running west from Clendenin to Kentucky via US 119 and US 60, and north and east from Rock Cave to Virginia via WV 20, US 33, WV 28, and US 50.

Pennsylvania Avenue

Pennsylvania Avenue is a street in Washington, D.C. that connects the White House and the United States Capitol. Called "America's Main Street", it is the location of official parades and processions, as well as protest marches. Moreover, Pennsylvania Avenue is an important commuter route and is part of the National Highway System.

Route

The avenue runs for a total of 5.8 miles (9.3 km) inside Washington, but the 1.2 miles (1.9 km) of Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House to the United States Capitol building is considered the most important. It continues within the city for 3.5 miles (5.6 km), from the southeast corner of the Capitol grounds through the Capitol Hill neighborhood, and over the Anacostia River on the John Philip Sousa Bridge. Crossing the entire width of Prince George's County, Maryland, it ends 14.5 miles (23.3 km) from the DC line at its junction with MD Route 408 at Waysons Corner near the Patuxent River, for a total length of 20.3 miles (32.7 km). At this point, as a limited-access highway, it becomes Southern Maryland Boulevard. On October 20, 2012, Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley issued a proclamation which named the part of Pennsylvania Avenue east of Water Street in Upper Marlboro and just north of her home town of Croom, Maryland the Stephanie Roper Highway In addition to its street names, in Maryland it is designated as Maryland Route 4. At one point in the mid-20th century, Pennsylvania Avenue was designated DC 4, an extension of Maryland Route 4 that reached at least the east side of the White House.

U.S. Route 69

U.S. Route 69 is a north–south United States highway. When it was first created, it was only 150 miles (241 km) long, but it has since been expanded into a Minnesota to Texas cross-country route. The highway's southern terminus (as well as those of US 287 and US 96) is in Port Arthur, Texas at an intersection with State Highway 87. Its northern terminus is in Albert Lea, Minnesota at Minnesota State Highway 13.

Route description

Texas

US 69 begins at its southern terminus with SH 87 in Port Arthur. This intersection is also the southern terminus for US 96 and US 287, which are concurrent with US 69. US 69, US 96, and US 287 continue in a northwest, then west, route until its intersection with Interstate 10 in southern Beaumont. At this intersection, US 69, US 96, and US 287 merge with I-10. I-10/US 69/US 96/US 287 continue in a northerly direction through Beaumont for several miles. Just after the intersection with US 90, I-10 splits from the multiplex and resumes its easterly course, leaving US 69, US 96, and US 287 heading northwest through Beaumont. US 69 north of I-10 is also known officially known as Eastex Freeway, and is an official evacuation route, just as Interstate 69/US 59 heading north from Houston is known as Eastex Freeway as well.

Wisconsin Highway 110

State Trunk Highway 110 (often called Highway 110, STH 110 or WIS 110) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It runs north–south in central Wisconsin from Fremont to Marion. Its southern terminus is at U.S. Highway 10 and WIS-96 southeast of Fremont. Its northern terminus is at U.S. Highway 45 in Marion.

Route description

The highway begins at an intersection with US 10 and WIS-96 southeast of Fremont. It heads north from US 10 for about half a mile before turning westward. It passes through Fremont and heads to the northwest before turning to the south toward US 10 and WIS-49.

The highway then runs concurrently to the north with US 10 and WIS-49 for about 5 miles (8.0 km). It then splits off and heads northward into Weyauwega. After it leaves the city, the highway continues to the northwest, where it will meet with WIS-22 and WIS-54. It runs concurrently to the north along both highways before WIS-54 splits off. WIS-110 and WIS-54 continue concurrently northward, passing through Manawa. North of Manawa, the highways split and WIS-110 continues to the north. Further along, it enters Marion, where it terminates at US 45.

U.S. Route 160

U.S. Route 160 is a 1,465 mile (2,358 km) long east–west United States highway in the Midwestern United States. The western terminus of the route is at US 89 five miles (8 km) west of Tuba City, Arizona. The eastern terminus is at US 67 and Missouri 158 southwest of Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Its route, if not its number, was made famous in song in 1975, as the road from Wolf Creek Pass to Pagosa Springs, Colorado in C.W. McCall's country music song Wolf Creek Pass.

Route description

Arizona

US 160 begins at US 89 near the western edge of Navajo Nation. Near Tuba City, it intersects State Route 264. It goes through Tonalea and Cow Springs before entering Kayenta, where it intersects U.S. Route 163. It continues northeast through Dennehotso, then has a brief overlap with U.S. Route 191 in Mexican Water. It goes east until Teec Nos Pos, where it intersects U.S. Route 64, then turns northeast to go to the Four Corners and enters New Mexico.

US 160 is one of the major routes crossing the Navajo Nation and in Arizona does not leave the Navajo Nation.

U.S. Route 4 in New Hampshire

In the state of New Hampshire, U.S. Route 4 runs for 106.8 miles (171.9 km) across the central and southern part of the state, stretching from Lebanon on the Connecticut River border with Vermont southeast to Portsmouth on the eastern coast.

Route description

U.S. Route 4 crosses the Connecticut River into New Hampshire in the community of West Lebanon, where it immediately intersects Route 10 which runs parallel to the river. US-4 turns south onto Route 10, and the two routes turn south, meeting Route 12A before turning towards and interchanging with Interstate 89. At this point, Route 10 joins the I-89 freeway southbound, while US-4 continues east into downtown Lebanon. The road crosses Route 120, continues east and interchanges with I-89/Route 10 again. US-4 continues east away from the freeway into Mascoma, where Route 4A splits off to the southeast. US-4 continues east through Enfield and into Canaan, where it meets the southern end of Route 118. The road turns to the south at this point, passing through Grafton and Danbury, where US-4 meets the west end of Route 104 and continues south into Andover. In Andover, US-4 turns back to the east and meets Route 11 near Route 4A's eastern terminus. US-4 and Route 11 run concurrently through Andover for about 2 miles (3.2 km) before splitting, Route 11 to the northeast and US-4 to the southeast. US-4 enters the town of Salisbury and crosses Route 127, before continuing into Boscawen and intersecting with U.S. Route 3. US-3 and US-4 share a short concurrency (about a mile), before US-4 turns east to interchange with Interstate 93 at Exit 17.
