Route 11 (Nagoya Expressway)

Nagoya Expressway Route 11 Komaki Route (名古屋高速道路11号小牧線, Nagoya Kōsokudōro Jūichigō Komakisen) is an urban expressway in Nagoya and Komaki, Aichi, Japan. It is a part of the Nagoya Expressway network and is owned and operated by Nagoya Expressway Public Corporation.

Overview

The route is a northward extension of Route 1 which terminates at its junction with the Higashi-Meihan Expressway. Route 11 continues as an elevated expressway above the median of National Route 41. The terminus is at Komaki-kita Interchange, which also provides direct access to the Meishin Expressway and Tōmei Expressway

The expressway is 4 lanes for its entire length and was opened to traffic in 2001. The toll is 350 yen for passenger cars and light trucks (including 2-wheeled vehicles) and 700 yen for large trucks and buses.

Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) is not accepted at the entrance of Horinouchi Interchange. However, the toll at this entrance is only 200 yen for passenger cars. The same discounted toll applies to vehicles entering or exiting the route from Toyoyama-minami Interchange at the southern end of the route, however these toll booths accept ETC.

Delaware Route 11

Delaware Route 11 (DE 11) is a state highway in Kent County, Delaware. It runs from Maryland Route 302 (MD 302) at the Maryland border near Templeville, Maryland northeast to DE 300 near Kenton. The road, known as Arthursville Road for its entire length, passes through the farmland of western Kent County and then through the town of Hartly, where it intersects DE 44. The route was built as a state highway in the 1920s and 1930s and received the DE 11 designation by 1936.

Route description

DE 11 begins at the Maryland border in western Kent County, where the road continues west into Maryland as MD 302 towards Templeville. From the state line, DE 11 heads northeast on two-lane, undivided Arthursville Road through a mix of woods and farms, with occasional residences. The road enters the town of Hartly, where it passes several homes. In the center of town, the route crosses DE 44 and heads north before it curves northeast out of Hartly. DE 11 continues into rural areas, making another turn north. The road runs northeast and comes to an end at DE 300 to the southwest of Kenton.

New Hampshire Route 11

New Hampshire Route 11 is a 108.223-mile-long (174.168 km) east–west state highway in New Hampshire, running completely across the central part of the state. Its western terminus is at the Vermont state line in Charlestown, where it continues west as Vermont Route 11. The eastern terminus is at the Maine state line in Rochester, where it crosses the border with U.S. Route 202 and continues as Maine State Route 11.

Its number is derived from its original 1925 designation as New England Interstate Route 11.

The highway follows a generally southwest to northeast alignment from the Vermont state line until reaching Lake Winnipesaukee, then turns southeast for the remainder of its routing to the Maine state line.

Route description

Charlestown to Newport

NH 11 begins on the western bank of the Connecticut River, where VT 11 crosses from Springfield, Vermont, into Charlestown, New Hampshire, just feet from its intersection with US 5. Just north of the town center, the highway meets and joins NH 12 north towards Claremont. NH 11 and NH 12 are cosigned for 9.9 miles (15.9 km). NH 12A, a western bypass of downtown Claremont, splits off just south of the city line. In downtown Claremont NH 11 leaves NH 12 and NH 103 joins eastbound, starting a longer 13.0-mile (20.9 km) concurrency. The two highways cross the Sugar River and meet the southern terminus of NH 120 before continuing east towards Newport. In downtown Newport, NH 11 and 103 briefly join NH 10 before turning east again to leave town. The two routes continue east for another 3.2 miles (5.1 km) before NH 103 splits off to the southeast.

U.S. Route 69

U.S. Route 69 is a north–south United States highway. When it was first created, it was only 150 miles (241 km) long, but it has since been expanded into a Minnesota to Texas cross-country route. The highway's southern terminus (as well as those of US 287 and US 96) is in Port Arthur, Texas at an intersection with State Highway 87. Its northern terminus is in Albert Lea, Minnesota at Minnesota State Highway 13.

Texas

US 69 begins at its southern terminus with SH 87 in Port Arthur. This intersection is also the southern terminus for US 96 and US 287, which are concurrent with US 69. US 69, US 96, and US 287 continue in a northwest, then west, route until its intersection with Interstate 10 in southern Beaumont. At this intersection, US 69, US 96, and US 287 merge with I-10. I-10/US 69/US 96/US 287 continue in a northerly direction through Beaumont for several miles. Just after the intersection with US 90, I-10 splits from the multiplex and resumes its easterly course, leaving US 69, US 96, and US 287 heading northwest through Beaumont. US 69 north of I-10 is also known officially known as Eastex Freeway, and is an official evacuation route, just as Interstate 69/US 59 heading north from Houston is known as Eastex Freeway as well.

Wisconsin Highway 110

State Trunk Highway 110 (often called Highway 110, STH 110 or WIS 110) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It runs north–south in central Wisconsin from Fremont to Marion. Its southern terminus is at U.S. Highway 10 and WIS-96 southeast of Fremont. Its northern terminus is at U.S. Highway 45 in Marion.

Route description

The highway begins at an intersection with US 10 and WIS-96 southeast of Fremont. It heads north from US 10 for about half a mile before turning westward. It passes through Fremont and heads to the northwest before turning to the south toward US 10 and WIS-49.

The highway then runs concurrently to the north with US 10 and WIS-49 for about 5 miles (8.0 km). It then splits off and heads northward into Weyauwega. After it leaves the city, the highway continues to the northwest, where it will meet with WIS-22 and WIS-54. It runs concurrently to the north along both highways before WIS-54 splits off. WIS-110 and WIS-54 continue concurrently northward, passing through Manawa. North of Manawa, the highways split and WIS-110 continues to the north. Further along, it enters Marion, where it terminates at US 45.

U.S. Route 160

U.S. Route 160 is a 1,465 mile (2,358 km) long east–west United States highway in the Midwestern United States. The western terminus of the route is at US 89 five miles (8 km) west of Tuba City, Arizona. The eastern terminus is at US 67 and Missouri 158 southwest of Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Its route, if not its number, was made famous in song in 1975, as the road from Wolf Creek Pass to Pagosa Springs, Colorado in C.W. McCall's country music song Wolf Creek Pass.

Route description

Arizona

US 160 begins at US 89 near the western edge of Navajo Nation. Near Tuba City, it intersects State Route 264. It goes through Tonalea and Cow Springs before entering Kayenta, where it intersects U.S. Route 163. It continues northeast through Dennehotso, then has a brief overlap with U.S. Route 191 in Mexican Water. It goes east until Teec Nos Pos, where it intersects U.S. Route 64, then turns northeast to go to the Four Corners and enters New Mexico.

US 160 is one of the major routes crossing the Navajo Nation and in Arizona does not leave the Navajo Nation.

U.S. Route 11 in Maryland

U.S. Route 11 (US 11) is a part of the U.S. Highway System that runs from New Orleans, Louisiana to Rouses Point, New York. In Maryland, the federal highway runs 12.83 miles (20.65 km) from the West Virginia state line at the Potomac River in Williamsport north to the Pennsylvania state line near Maugansville. US 11 is the primary north–south surface highway in central Washington County, connecting Hagerstown with Williamsport to the south and Hagerstown Regional Airport to the north. The federal highway was once a major long-distance highway, but that role has been assumed by Interstate 81 (I-81), which parallels US 11 not only in Maryland but for most of its course from Tennessee to Upstate New York. US 11 is maintained by the Maryland State Highway Administration except for the municipally-maintained portions within the corporate limits of Williamsport and Hagerstown.

US 11 is the descendant of a trail blazed through the Great Appalachian Valley in the 18th century. In the 19th century, this trail was upgraded to a pair of turnpikes, one from Williamsport to Hagerstown and the second from Hagerstown to the Pennsylvania state line. The highway was constructed in its modern form in the early 20th century, with the bridge across the Potomac River constructed in 1909 and the old turnpikes paved as all-weather roads by the nascent Maryland State Roads Commission in the 1910s. These highways and the streets of Hagerstown and Williamsport were designated Maryland's portion of US 11 in 1926. The federal highway was improved outside of the towns in the years surrounding 1930 and again around 1950. Since the completion of I-81 in two sections in the late 1950s and mid-1960s removed long-distance traffic from the highway, US 11 has seen its two major relocations: one that removed the highway from downtown Hagerstown and another required by expansion at Hagerstown Regional Airport.
