National Highway 45 (India) (Grand Southern Trunk Road)
West Virginia Route 45 (WV 45) is a state highway in the U.S. state of West Virginia. The state highway runs 25.8 miles (41.5 km) from the Virginia state line near Glengary east to WV 480 and WV 230 in Shepherdstown. WV 45 connects the communities of Glengary and Arden in southwestern Berkeley County with the county seat of Martinsburg. The state highway also connects Shepherdstown in northern Jefferson County with Martinsburg, where the highway meets Interstate 81 (I-81), U.S. Route 11 (US 11), and WV 9.
WV 45 begins at the Virginia state line in the southwestern corner of Berkeley County. The roadway continues across the state line as SR 681 (Glengary Road) in Frederick County, Virginia. WV 45 heads north and then east through a mix of forest and farmland in a valley east of Sleepy Creek Mountain. East of the village of Glengary, the state highway crosses Back Creek then veers northeast to ascend North Mountain. WV 45 intersects WV 51 (Gerrardstown Road) at Mills Gap at the top of the mountain. WV 45 descends into the Shenandoah Valley, passing the community of Union Corner and the historic homes Campbellton and Ar-Qua Springs. In the village of Arden, WV 45 turns east onto Greenhouse Road, south onto Arden Nollville Road, then northeast from the second road to head toward Martinsburg.
Oregon Route 38 is an Oregon state highway that runs between the city of Reedsport, on the Oregon Coast, and an interchange with Interstate 5 near the communities of Curtin and Anlauf. It is also known as most of as the Umpqua Highway No. 45 (see Oregon highways and routes), as the western portions of the highway run alongside the Umpqua River. The highway lies entirely within Douglas County.
Oregon Route 38 begins (at its western terminus) at a junction with U.S. Route 101 in Reedsport. It heads due east from there, running alongside the Umpqua River and by the Dean Creek Wildlife Area, which provides overlooks for viewing regional wildlife. The route continues east after that, passing through the communities of Scottsburg and Green Acres.
In the city of Elkton, the highway intersects with Oregon Route 138, which continues to follow the Umpqua River, heading south. OR 38 continues east, passing through the Elk Creek Tunnel Forest State Scenic Corridor, as well as the highway tunnel the park is named after. The highway continues east through the mountains of southwestern Oregon, eventually reaching the community of Drain. In Drain, it intersects with Oregon Route 99; OR 38 continues northeast from Drain on an alignment shared with OR 99. Just south of Curtin, OR 38 ends at an interchange with Interstate 5. OR 99 continues north, sharing an alignment with I-5 (diverting from it once again when it the highway reaches the city of Cottage Grove).
U.S. Route 69 is a north–south United States highway. When it was first created, it was only 150 miles (241 km) long, but it has since been expanded into a Minnesota to Texas cross-country route. The highway's southern terminus (as well as those of US 287 and US 96) is in Port Arthur, Texas at an intersection with State Highway 87. Its northern terminus is in Albert Lea, Minnesota at Minnesota State Highway 13.
US 69 begins at its southern terminus with SH 87 in Port Arthur. This intersection is also the southern terminus for US 96 and US 287, which are concurrent with US 69. US 69, US 96, and US 287 continue in a northwest, then west, route until its intersection with Interstate 10 in southern Beaumont. At this intersection, US 69, US 96, and US 287 merge with I-10. I-10/US 69/US 96/US 287 continue in a northerly direction through Beaumont for several miles. Just after the intersection with US 90, I-10 splits from the multiplex and resumes its easterly course, leaving US 69, US 96, and US 287 heading northwest through Beaumont. US 69 north of I-10 is also known officially known as Eastex Freeway, and is an official evacuation route, just as Interstate 69/US 59 heading north from Houston is known as Eastex Freeway as well.
U.S. Route 160 is a 1,465 mile (2,358 km) long east–west United States highway in the Midwestern United States. The western terminus of the route is at US 89 five miles (8 km) west of Tuba City, Arizona. The eastern terminus is at US 67 and Missouri 158 southwest of Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Its route, if not its number, was made famous in song in 1975, as the road from Wolf Creek Pass to Pagosa Springs, Colorado in C.W. McCall's country music song Wolf Creek Pass.
US 160 begins at US 89 near the western edge of Navajo Nation. Near Tuba City, it intersects State Route 264. It goes through Tonalea and Cow Springs before entering Kayenta, where it intersects U.S. Route 163. It continues northeast through Dennehotso, then has a brief overlap with U.S. Route 191 in Mexican Water. It goes east until Teec Nos Pos, where it intersects U.S. Route 64, then turns northeast to go to the Four Corners and enters New Mexico.
US 160 is one of the major routes crossing the Navajo Nation and in Arizona does not leave the Navajo Nation.
U.S. Route 27 (US 27) is a north–south United States highway in the southern and midwestern United States. The southern terminus is at US 1 in Miami, Florida. The northern terminus is at Interstate 69 (I-69) in Fort Wayne, Indiana. From Miami it goes up the center of Florida, then west to Tallahassee, Florida, and north through such cities and towns as Columbus, Georgia; Rome, Georgia; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Lexington, Kentucky; Cincinnati, Ohio; Oxford, Ohio; Richmond, Indiana; and Fort Wayne, Indiana. It once extended north through Lansing, Michigan, to Cheboygan, Mackinaw City, and for about 3 years as far as St. Ignace.
US 27 appeared in 1926, replacing what had been the western route of the Dixie Highway in many places.
In Florida, US 27 has been designated the Claude Pepper Memorial Highway by the Florida State Legislature. It was named after long-time Florida US Senator and congressman Claude Pepper. Nearly the entire length of US 27 in Florida is a divided highway.
U.S. Route 45 is a north–south United States highway. US 45 is a border-to-border route, from Lake Superior to the Gulf of Mexico. A sign at the highway's northern terminus notes the total distance as 1,300 miles (2,100 km).
US 45 is notable for incorporating, in its maiden alignment, the first paved road in the South, a 49-mile segment in Lee County, Mississippi. Let to contract in July 1914, the concrete highway opened on November 15, 1915.
As of 2006, the highway's northern terminus is in Ontonagon, Michigan, at the corner of Ontonagon and River Streets, a few blocks from Lake Superior. M-64 formerly terminated there as well until its rerouting in October 2006 to use the newly built Ontonagon River Bridge. Its southern terminus is in Mobile, Alabama, at an intersection with U.S. Route 98.
U.S. 45 is co-routed with unsigned State Route 17 between Mobile and Vinegar Bend, just north of Deer Park, in Washington County, Alabama. From Vinegar Bend to the Mississippi state line, U.S. 45 is paired with unsigned Alabama State Route 57.
