The United States of America (USA), commonly referred to as the United States (U.S.) or America, is a federal republic composed of 50 states, a federal district, five major territories and various possessions. The 48 contiguous states and Washington, D.C., are in central North America between Canada and Mexico. The state of Alaska is in the northwestern part of North America and the state of Hawaii is an archipelago in the mid-Pacific. The territories are scattered about the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. At 3.8 million square miles (9.842 million km2) and with over 320 million people, the country is the world's third or fourth-largest by total area and the third most populous. It is one of the world's most ethnically diverse and multicultural nations, the product of large-scale immigration from many countries. The geography and climate of the United States are also extremely diverse, and the country is home to a wide variety of wildlife.
"U-S-A!" is a chant of the United States of America's initials popular in expressing American pride and supporting American national sports teams. The chant was documented at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany, during the basketball tournament final between the United States and the Soviet Union, but was popularized after being yelled by fans during the 1980 Winter Olympics, held in Lake Placid, New York, where the U.S. men's ice hockey team defeated the Soviet Union in what became known as the "Miracle on Ice", later moving on to beat Finland for the gold medal. The origin of the cheer is unknown, although there are reports which pre-date the 1972 Olympics. It was chanted during the finals of the 1500 meter event and the long jump at the 1936 Summer Olympics and can be heard in Leni Riefenstahl's Festival of Nations documentary.
The chant can be used in other community events, such as at political rallies.
During the U.S.'s 7–3 win over Czechoslovakia in the 1980 Winter Olympic tournament's second game, Sandy MacDonald and David Claiborne began chanting "U-S-A! U-S-A!" in support of the American hockey team as the Americans scored a decisive win over one of the best teams in the world. The chant became a fixture of the team's remaining games and gained national attention during the famous "Miracle on Ice" game against the Soviet Union. Since that time, American sports fans have spontaneously chanted "U-S-A! U-S-A!" at many international events, and during times of patriotic fervor. Interestingly, it was Sandy MacDonald's idea to start the chant and Mr. MacDonald was born and raised in Canada.

"U.S.A. (Aiight Then)" is the third and final single from Mobb Deep's Murda Muzik album. The b-side features the song "Spread Love". The song was originally titled "Street Kingz" and featured a short verse by fellow rapper Nas.
U.S.A. is a trompe l'oeil oil painting by American artist John Haberle from 1889, located in the Indianapolis Museum of Art, which is in Indianapolis, Indiana. It depicts currency and stamps so realistically that Haberle was accused of pasting real money to the canvas.
U.S.A. depicts a scattering of worn American stamps and bills, particularly the back of a dollar bill emblazoned with a warning against reproducing it. In a wry touch, Haberle also painted on a newspaper clipping praising one of his earlier works. U.S.A. is signed in the upper right corner with "J. Haberle" and a smiley face, and again on the metal plate on front of the shadow box frame, which Haberle painted to look engraved.
In 1886, William Harnett, another noted photorealistic painter, was arrested for counterfeiting. This apparently inspired Haberle to produce an abundance of exact facsimiles of American currency, particularly in his first four years as a painter, from 1887 to 1891. Haberle originally trained as an engraver, which helped prepare him for his particular artistic calling. Despite warnings from the Secret Service, Haberle persisted in producing such images in his particularly wry manner.
U.S.A. (Under Satan's Authority) is the only album by the horrorcore group Flatlinerz, which was released in 1994 on Def Jam Recordings and was produced by Russell Simmons, Rockwilder, DR Period, and Tempest da Undertaker. The album found some success, making it to #65 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and #24 on the Top Heatseekers but also found controversy for its satanic themes. Also, the three music videos the group shot for the album, "Live Evil", "Satanic Verses" and "Rivaz of Red," were barely played because of things such as frontman Redrum rhyming while hanging from a noose and Gravedigger rhyming from a crucifix. The album only sold 36,000 copies and the group, along with the Headless Horsemen and Omen (who were featured on the album), was dropped from Def Jam. Three singles were released, but only "Live Evil" made it to the charts, making it to #35 on the Hot Rap Singles.
In 2009, Fangoria named it as an iconic horrorcore album.
When I was young
I watched the cars
When I was older
I drank in bars
When I was young
I chewed the leaves
When I was older
I drank with thieves
I found a love
She gave me dreams
She left me drunk
In New Orleans
So cold and lonely
So all alone
I wished my heart
Was made of stone
I took the cold bright needle
I used it as a sword
My eyes have seen the glory of
The coming of the Lord
I burned across the delta
I swam across the ford
My eyes have seen the glory of
The coming of the Lord
When I was a young man
Standing on this road
My empty belly
An aching hole
An old man said to me
";Kid don't you know
That it's the same
Wherever you go";
I gambled in two graveyards
I won against the odds
With the smiling saints
And the silent saviours
With the maggots and the gods
I cursed the things they showed me
I could never see again
And the howling of the wind at night
I wrote upon the rain
I found the thing
For which I prayed
And came back home
To the USA
With a heart of stone
And now I know
That it's the same
Wherever you go
