Tyler Joseph

Tyler Joseph (born December 1, 1988), is an American musician, singer, rapper, and songwriter. He is best known as the lead vocalist for the American musical duo Twenty One Pilots.

Early life

Joseph was born in Columbus, Ohio. He grew up along with two brothers, Zack (also a singer) and Jay, and a sister, Madison. His mother, Kelly, was a math teacher in the Olentangy school district before being named Olentangy Orange High School's basketball coach in 2013. His father, Chris, was also a coach at Worthington Christian High School during 1996–2005, and is a school's principal. Joseph played basketball from a very young age and went on to play point guard for Worthington Christian. In 2008, the basketball team placed second in the Division IV state tournament.

After seeing a songwriter perform at a High Street club, he rejected a basketball scholarship offer from Otterbein University and began playing music, after finding an old keyboard in his closet (a Christmas gift from his mother) and mimicking radio melodies.

Joseph is a fashion brand and retail chain that was established in London by Moroccan entrepreneur Joseph Ettedgui and his family in 1972.

History of the brand

The Joseph brand grew from a small shop attached to a hairdressing salon in King's Road, Chelsea, owned by Casablanca-born Joseph Ettedgui and his brothers Maurice and Franklin, to more than 20 London stores, with eight additional outlets in New York and Paris plus stores in Leeds and Manchester.

Joseph Ettedgui’s love of fashion meant the brothers began displaying designer clothes in their hair salon in the 1960s, including the work of pioneering Japanese designer Kenzo Takada. The success of this early collaboration led to a move into fashion retailing, with the first store opening below the Chelsea hair salon in the early 1970s and the first large-scale retail outlet opening on Sloane Street in 1979.

Joseph stores championed the work of many up-and-coming designers, including Margaret Howell, Katharine Hamnett, John Galliano and Azzedine Alaïa. Own brand clothing began with distinctive knitwear (Joseph Tricot) and went on to include women’s clothing, perfume, homewares (Joseph Pour La Maison), and Joe's restaurants. Joseph has been the recipient of a number of British Fashion Awards, including Knitwear Designer of the Year four times between 1990 and 1994 and a British Fashion Award in 2000 presented by Cherie Blair.

Nashville Tribute Band

The Nashville Tribute Band is a Mormon music group founded by Jason Deere and Dan Truman, the pianist of the popular country group Diamond Rio.

Background

In 2003, songwriter and record producer Jason Deere began teaching the Old and New Testament in an early morning LDS seminary class for high school students in Franklin, Tennessee. His research and teaching inspired him to write an album of songs about the early history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), from 1820 to 1844. The album Joseph: A Nashville Tribute To The Prophet was co-produced with Deere's longtime friend Dan Truman, of Diamond Rio. Dan Truman also wrote one of the songs on the album. The album was released by Deseret Books’ Highway Records in 2005 and it became one of Deseret Books’ best selling albums, winning Pearl Awards for Contemporary Album Of The Year, Inspirational Recording Of The Year (Emma), Contemporary Instrumental Recorded Song Of The Year (Say Uncle), Songwriter Of The Year (Jason Deere). The LDS Booksellers Association also awarded the album a 2006 Listener's Choice Award for Album Of The Year and awarded Deere a 2006 Listener's Choice Award for Best New Artist.

Rubberneck (album)

Rubberneck is the most successful album by American rock band The Toadies. It was released in August 1994 on Interscope Records and attained RIAA gold and platinum status in December 1995 and December 1996 respectively. The album produced the band's most popular single, "Possum Kingdom". The song's master track is featured in the Xbox 360 version of the video game Guitar Hero II. It was also released for the video game Rock Band 3 in a pack that contained "Away" and "Tyler" as well.

In 2014, in honor of the album's 20th anniversary, Kirtland Records re-released the album on CD and vinyl on April 1. The album was remastered and also includes five bonus tracks Three of the bonus tracks are previously unreleased songs from the original album's sessions, including "Run in with Dad" and a cover of Pylon's "Stop It", both of which were previously recorded for Velvet, and "Rockfish", an early version of "Waterfall", a song later recorded for Feeler, the intended follow-up to Rubberneck. The other two bonus tracks are early live versions of "Possum Kingdom" and "Tyler", recorded at Trees Dallas on December 5, 1991 The vinyl only features the original 11 album tracks, and includes a download of the five bonus tracks.

Tyler, Texas

Tyler is a city in and the county seat of Smith County, Texas, United States. It takes its name from President John Tyler. This city had a population of 96,900 in 2010, according to the United States Census Bureau. Tyler's 2014 estimated population is 107,405. It is 100 miles (160 km) east-southeast of Dallas. Tyler is the principal city of the Tyler Metropolitan Statistical Area, with a population of 209,714 in 2010, and the regional center of the Tyler-Jacksonville combined statistical area, with a population of 260,559 in 2010.

Tyler has the nickname "Rose Capital of the World". It gained this name due to the large quantity of rose bushes processed through the area, along with hosting America's largest rose garden.

In 1985, the international Adopt-a-Highway movement originated in Tyler when, after appeals by local Texas Department of Transportation officials, the local Civitan chapter adopted a two-mile (3-km) stretch of U.S. Highway 69. Tyler is also home to the Caldwell Zoo and Broadway Square Mall.
