Texas's 13th congressional district
Texas District 13 of the United States House of Representatives is a Congressional District of the U.S. state of Texas that includes most of the Texas Panhandle, parts of Texoma and northeastern parts of North Texas. The current Representative is Mac Thornberry.
According to the Cook Partisan Voting Index, it is the most Republican district in the country (R+32).
This district, however, has not always been strongly Republican. As late as 1976, Jimmy Carter won 33 of the 44 counties in this district, getting 60-70% in many of them.
In 2012, this was President Barack Obama's lowest percentage of the vote in a congressional district. He received 18.5% of the vote.
