Twixt is a 2011 horror thriller film written, directed and produced by Francis Ford Coppola starring Val Kilmer and Elle Fanning, The film premiered on September 4, 2011 at the Toronto International Film Festival and was screened at various film festivals in North America, receiving a limited theatrical release in a handful of International markets. The film's title, Twixt, refers to the two worlds explored in the film, the dream and the waking worlds.
Twixt was released on Blu-ray Disc and DVD by Fox Home Entertainment on July 23, 2013, and the film marks the on-screen reunion of Val Kilmer and Joanne Whalley.
Plot synopsis
The film follows Hall Baltimore (Val Kilmer), a-down-on-his-luck writer who specializes in novels based upon witch hunting. At a book signing, he is approached by Sheriff Bobby LaGrange (Bruce Dern), an eccentric fan with two requests: that Hall read his latest work and that he also accompany him to the morgue to view the body of a recent murder victim, as Bobby believes that it would make for a great story. Hall reluctantly agrees, and at the morgue he learns that the person was murdered by a serial killer. Despite offers from Bobby, Hall opts to not look at the victim's face. At the coffee shop he learns about a local hotel that once sheltered Edgar Allan Poe. This, along with the murders and various other odd features of the town, prompt Hall to announce to his wife that he wants to write a piece based upon the town.
TwixT
TwixT is a two-player strategy board game invented by Alex Randolph. It belongs to the connection family of games, along with Hex, Havannah, Y, PÜNCT and *Star. TwixT was short-listed for the first Spiel des Jahres in 1979, and was inducted into the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design's Hall of Fame, along with Randolph, in 2011.
3M originally published TwixT as part of its Bookshelf Games line, and Avalon Hill took over publication at a later date. The game is no longer produced in the United States, although Schmidt Spiele produced copies in Germany, and Kosmos published a version in 1998. Michael Katz, his nephew, owns the rights to Twixt since the death of Alex's widow, Gertrude Randolph.
Twixt is played on board comprising a 24×24 grid of holes, without the holes in the four corners. The rows at the four board edges are called "border rows". In the 3M edition, players are Red and Black; different sets may use different colors. The topmost and bottommost rows belong to the lighter color; the leftmost and rightmost rows to the darker color.
Bedrock
In stratigraphy, bedrock is consolidated rock underlying the surface of a terrestrial planet, usually the Earth. Above the bedrock is usually an area of broken and weathered unconsolidated rock in the basal subsoil. The surface of the bedrock beneath soil cover is known as rockhead in engineering geology and identifying this, via excavations, drilling or geophysical methods, is an important task in most civil engineering projects. Superficial deposits (also known as drift) can be extremely thick, such that the bedrock lies hundreds of meters below the surface.
Bedrock may also experience subsurface weathering at its upper boundary, forming saprolite.
A solid geologic map of an area will usually show the distribution of differing bedrock types, i.e., rock that would be exposed at the surface if all soil or other superficial deposits were removed.
Soil scientists use the capital letters O, A, B, C, and E to identify the master soil horizons, and lowercase letters for distinctions of these horizons. Most soils have three major horizons—the surface horizon (A), the subsoil (B), and the substratum (C). Some soils have an organic horizon (O) on the surface, but such a horizon can also be buried. The master horizon, E, is used for subsurface horizons that have a significant loss of minerals (eluviation). Hard bedrock, which is not soil, uses the letter R.

BedRock
"BedRock" is the second single by hip hop group Young Money Entertainment from their debut collaboration album We Are Young Money. It is performed by Young Money artists Lil Wayne, Gudda Gudda, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Tyga, Jae Millz, and features R&B singer Lloyd. It was released as a CD in the United Kingdom on March 22, 2010. "BedRock" is featured as a bonus track on the Japanese and New Zealand editions of Nicki Minaj's debut studio album, Pink Friday.
Background
After being leaked in September 2009 to Lil Wayne fan sites, "BedRock" was finally released on November 14, 2009. It was originally titled "Girl You Know" (the fan sites to which the single was leaked titled it "BedRock/Girl You Know") and the chorus was sung by Omarion and Lil Wayne's verse was different, but due to Omarion's departure from Young Money, he was replaced by Lloyd. The song was originally planned to be released as the 3rd official single of the album, however due to popular demand by fans it was released as the 2nd single.
