Por amor (Mexican telenovela)

Por amor (English title:For love) is a Mexican telenovela produced by Irene Sabido for Televisa in 1981. It is an original story by Rita Valencia and Manuel de la Rosa. It starred by María Sorté, Manuel Ojeda, Adriana Roel, Carlos Cámara, Chela Nájera and Salvador Sánchez.

Plot

Helena is the divorced mother of Maria Eduarda, a spoiled young woman, and they both live in Leblon, where most of the story happens. Helena does her best to make Eduarda accept her alcoholic father, Orestes. But Eduarda has eyes only for her great love, Marcelo. The boy suffers from a persecution of his former girlfriend, Laura, distraught at having been neglected. Marcelo's mother, Branca Leticia, also disagreed with her son's choice. Branca is a fierce and strong-willed woman, who likes to manipulate other people. Branca worships Marcelo, her eldest son, but doesn't care for her other children, the modern middle daughter Milena and the shy youngest son, Leonardo. Branca controls the life of her friend Isabel, who has an affair with Atilio, a man who is looking for a great love. Branca has long been in love with Atilio and angry to learn that he fell in love with Eduarda's mother, Helena.

Por Amor (1982) is Menudo's tenth Spanish album, featuring Ricky Meléndez, Johnny Lozada, Xavier Serbiá, Miguel Cancel, and new member Charlie Massó. Charlie replaced René Farrait as René reached the age limit.

Beto (Portuguese footballer, born 1976)

Roberto Luís Gaspar de Deus Severo, OIH (born 3 May 1976), known as Beto (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈbɛtu]), is a retired Portuguese footballer who played mainly as a central defender.

He played most of his professional career with Sporting (ten seasons, more than 300 official games and five major titles), but also had spells in France and Spain, which included spending three years with Recreativo de Huelva.

Beto represented the Portuguese national team at the 2002 World Cup and two European Championships, gaining 31 caps.

Club career

A product of Portuguese League club Sporting Clube de Portugal, Lisbon-born Beto established himself in the first team in the 1996–97 season at the age of just 20, after two loans. As a defensive force and team captain he scored some important goals, including against FC Porto, but also two own goals in a single match against rivals S.L. Benfica, a 1–2 home loss.

He won the national league twice, in 2000 and 2002, conquering the double in the latter year. During his ten-year spell with the Lions, he managed to net at least one goal in every season.

Beto (Portuguese singer)

Beto (December 28, 1967 – May 23, 2010), stage name of Albertino João Santos Pereira, was a Portuguese singer.

Beto was born in Peniche, Portugal, and started to sing at the age of five. He settled in Torres Vedras at 17. Beto founded the music group Tanimaria in 1992, which performed in Xafarix, a bar in Lisbon. In 2000 he recorded a project with Rita Guerra which resulted in the album Desencontros, performed by both in shows across the country. His 2003 solo debut album, Olhar em Frente, reached platinum status, followed by the plantinum-selling Influência in 2005. Those were followed by Porto de Abrigo and Por Minha Conta e Risco.

A number of his songs appeared in several Portuguese soap operas throughout the early 2000s. In 2009, Farol records edited the collection O Melhor de Beto, a best-of compilation. Among his best known and most successful themes are: "Memórias Esquecidas" and "Brincando Com O Fogo" (with Rita Guerra).

Beto was found dead in his hotel room in Caldas da Rainha on May 23, 2010. A stroke was reported to be the cause of death. He is survived by his son Tiago.

Gilberto Galdino dos Santos

Gilberto Galdino dos Santos (born 20 November 1976), known as Beto, is a retired Brazilian professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder.

He also holds a Portuguese passport due to having spent many years in the country, where he even represented, amongst other teams, Benfica. Over the course of seven seasons, he amassed Primeira Liga totals of 180 games and ten goals.

Club career

Born in Carpina, Pernambuco, Beto started his professional career in 1998, having unassuming stints in Argentina and Uruguay. After five years in Portugal with mid-to-bottom table first division clubs F.C. Paços de Ferreira and S.C. Beira-Mar, excelling especially in the latter by scoring a career-best six goals in the 2004–05 season even though the Aveiro club ranked last, he signed a three-year contract with S.L. Benfica in the summer of 2005.

Despite not being a fans' favourite, Beto was often cast in the first team by manager Ronald Koeman. He appeared in 24 league games in his first year, playing the full 90 minutes in half of those. His greatest moment at the club happened on 7 December 2005, when the Eagles defeated Manchester United 2–1 in Lisbon, in a UEFA Champions League group stage contest, sealing their passage to the round-of-16 stage: he scored the decider at the 34' mark, netting from outside the area.

Amor (Ricky Martin song)

"Amor" (English: "Love") is the first English-language single from Ricky Martin's greatest hits album, The Best of Ricky Martin (2001). Originally, the song was included on the 2000 album, Sound Loaded. The Best of Ricky Martin contains two remixes of "Amor," by Salaam Remi and Jonathan Peters.

"Amor" was released on November 26, 2001 in selected European countries.

The song reached number eighty-two in Switzerland in December 2001.
