Neo (Marvel Comics species)

The Neo were a fictional race of superhumans in the Marvel Comics Universe, created by Chris Claremont. Before facing global extinction, the Neo were another of Earth's races, apparently a very ancient one that prefer to live in seclusion. They appear to be a subspecies of mutants, but much more powerful. This is seen in the way they call mutants "spikes", as if they didn't even register on the Neo's power scales.

Species Biography

Their existence was kept hidden for millennia as they had chosen a solitary life in their own community. They prospered until the day the High Evolutionary activated his machines (from an orbital space station) that switched off all mutant genes. Worldwide all mutants lost their powers and become baseline humans. The Neo suffered many casualties. Among the dead was the daughter of Domina and Hunter, the leaders of one of Neo's Warclan. They swear revenge on whoever is responsible.

The Neo engaged in fighting the X-Men, who have no intention of letting them destroy the world. It was the Neo who sabotaged the High Evolutionary's space station, who destroyed 17 of Mister Sinister's bases, and who hunted down the mutants hidden by Charles Xavier in NYC. They are all top-notch fighters, and can withstand significant punishment before going down. They are also quite technologically advanced.

Neo (object-relational toolset)

Neo (or .NET Entity Objects) is an object-relational mapping (ORM) solution for the Microsoft .NET platform. It is open source software that is distributed freely by its author, Erik Dörnenburg of ThoughtWorks. It provides a framework for mapping an object-oriented domain model to a traditional relational database. It is released under the GNU LGPL 2.1

Truly

Truly is an American rock band formed in the wake of the grunge era. It featured singer-guitarist Robert Roth, bassist Hiro Yamamoto, and drummer Mark Pickerel. Yamamoto and Pickerel were founding members respectively of Soundgarden and Screaming Trees. While not a commercially successful group like some of their Seattle contemporaries, the band lasted a decade with two studio albums to their name.

History

Background, formation, and Heart and Lungs (1990-1992)

Following the demise of his previous band The Storybook Krooks, Robert Roth auditioned to play guitar for Nirvana but they ultimately decided to continue as a trio. A month later, Roth says he met up with Pickerel as he (Roth) was beginning to write new songs for what would become his signature venture:

After Pickerel joined, Roth claims that Quinn insisted on switching to guitar, which led to an opening for a bass player. Pickerel then contacted Yamamoto, who reflects:

Truly released their debut EP, Heart and Lungs, through Sub Pop in 1991. This is the only recording that the band did as a quartet as Chris Quinn left shortly thereafter. Roth later commented that he and Quinn did not get along that well, saying, "I’m more of an intuitive type, he’s more a studied type." Truly also played on the side stage at Lollapalooza in 1992.

Melanie Amaro

Melanie Ann Amaro (born June 26, 1992) is an American recording artist who won the first season of The X Factor USA in 2011, securing a $5 million recording contract with Syco Music and Epic Records. Amaro was also the youngest contestant to win the competition during the show's run (2011-2013).

Early life

Amaro was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and raised on Tortola, British Virgin Islands since the age of three. Amaro was sent to the British Virgin Islands to live with her grandmother Catherine, after her parents Hipolito Amaro and Debra Sylvester Amaro felt they did not have the means to provide for her. Amaro would only see her parents during summer vacations and Christmas breaks. She also has two brothers, Mark and Mike, and a younger sister named Maya. Her mother Debra recalls that when her daughter was about six months old, she would get up at around two o'clock in the morning and would start singing in her crib. Furthermore, from an early age, Amaro would sing around her house using a hairbrush as a microphone. Melanie realized she fell in love with singing and acting at around age eleven, and credits her mother for pushing her to follow her singing dreams. Amaro never entered any singing competitions as a child, but performed at weddings, churches, and other events. Melanie attended the Althea Scatliffe Primary School and later went on to Elmore Stout high school, formerly known as BVI high school. Melanie moved to Florida when she was 15, and graduated from Plantation High School in 2010. In March 2012, her high school chorus teacher, Gary Rivenbark, whom Amaro credits with the help of shaping her voice, died of lymphoma at age 48.

Truly (Delerium song)

"Truly" is the second single from Delerium's album Chimera featuring singer Nerina Pallot.

Just like the rest of the album, this song has a much more pop feel than Delerium's previous work.

Also this single was released with a remix as a radio version. This time with a remix by Wise Buddah. Other remixes were made by Infusion, Brother Brown and Signum.

There was no video made for the single.
