All were residents of Southampton, Hampshire and working in that area. Nathan Rollins and Glen Vine had been to the same school and knew each other well. Scott was also a long-time friend to Nathan. The Reason is a Canadian rock band, formed by Adam White and James Nelan in 2003 in Hamilton.
Adam White (vocals) and James "Cubby" Nelan (guitar) formed The Reason in late 2003 after the passing of their punk rock band, Sewing With Nancie. Eventually adding Erik Mikalauskas (guitar), Cam Bordignon (drums; who replaced original drummer Joe Demars) and Sean Palmer (bass), The Reason began to write songs and immediately released their first EP - Problems Associated With Running. The band replaced Mikalauskas with Jeremy Widerman on guitar shortly afterwards, and went on tour {http://www.thereason.ca/newsite/tour.php}. They soon signed to Smallman Records & Management after the label witnessed the band performing a concert. In the 12 months that followed they played over 200 shows across Canada and the northern USA, and quickly developed poise well beyond their short existence.
They released their first full-length album, Ravenna, on Smallman Records in 2004, which helped them join tours with Alexisonfire, Boys Night Out, Murphy's Law, No Use for A Name and Strung Out, and shows at CMW, Wakefest, Edgefest, and Wakestock. The album combined aggressive pop with punk that triggered comparisons to Grade and early Get Up Kids. According to Chart Magazine, The Reason had "sharpened their attack, tightened up arrangements and honed their harmonies to precision-drilled perfection"
"The Reason" is a song by the American rock band Hoobastank, off their album The Reason. The song is Hoobastank's most commercially successful single, peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (kept from the top spot by Usher's hit "Burn"), and No. 1 on the Modern Rock Tracks. In addition, it topped the singles charts in both Mexico and Italy. It was nominated for the Song of the Year on the 47th Grammy Awards. And the song won the MTV Video Music Awards Japan for best rock video. A remix version also exists for airplay on adult contemporary stations. An acoustic version is present in The Greatest Hits: Don't Touch My Moustache album.
The Reason is the only Hoobastank's pop rock song, the others songs of the band always has been considered post grunge, or alternative rock.
In "The Reason" the band members stage a diversion so they can carry out the elaborate theft of a ruby gem from a pawnshop, but those facts are only clear after enough of the action unfolds, because nothing is as it seems. In the beginning of the video, a girl gets hit by a car and then turns out to be an accessory to the crime. After the "accident", while everyone's attention is diverted, the band members execute the heist. The viewer then realizes that she was in on the operation, as she gets up and rides off with an accomplice on a motorcycle at the end. The presumed owner of the pawnshop displays a look of realization, and the song ends with the band admiring their new acquisition, holding it up to the light and projecting red light-rays onto the ceiling. The accident "victim" is also present. They then hear police sirens from above, and the video fades out.

True is the debut extended play (EP) by American recording artist Solange Knowles, first released on November 27, 2012 digitally through Terrible Records. Following the release of her second studio album Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams (2008), Knowles announced that she had parted ways with Interscope Geffen A&M after releasing just one album on the label, and further revealed that she had chosen to go an independent route, eventually signing with Terrible Records. In 2009 Knowles began the recording of a studio album, during which she suffered a "breakdown" due to the amount of time and emotion she was putting into the recording process
A neo soul album, True contains an eclectic sound that takes influence from PBR&B, new wave music, dance, 1980s pop, and electronica, whilst the extended play's production is characterized as containing '80s references, keyboards and African percussion. The recording process took three years and was handled by Knowles and producer Dev Hynes. Together the pair produced, wrote and composed all of the songs, a decision Knowles made due to their chemistry, friendship and work relationship.
You knew before i ever told you
descend the light on me baby
could not see through the darkness
through the darkness to the dawn
i prayed that youd come along
i felt before you even touched me
descend the light on you baby
i can see right through the darkness
through the darkness to the dawn
you showed me
you helped me keep on
you are the reason
the reason
it's true our story is unfolding
the sunight on our faces
we can see right through the darkness
through the darkness to the dawn
tomorrow a new day
will show me a new way
cause you are the reason that i am alive
the reason the reason
leaving the darkness in the past
now that i've found love to last
you're the reason
so beautiful and full of bliss
a little piece of happiness
you're the reason
you are the reason
