Rumble (slamball team)

The Rumble is one of six teams currently competing in SlamBall.

History

The Los Angeles Rumble were one of two original Slamball teams, along with the Chicago Mob, formed in 2001. In their first season,they beat the Diablos (now the Hombres) 46–41 and won the first ever championship. The next season they made the playoffs again but lost to the Slashers, after which the league went on hiatus until 2008. When they returned, they finished with a 9–3 record and went to the championship to play the Slashers, whom they lost to, 48–46. The Rumble are the only team to have been in the playoffs every season.

Truck driver

A truck driver (commonly referred to as a trucker or driver in the United States and Canada; a truckie in Australia and New Zealand; a lorry driver, or driver in Ireland, the United Kingdom, India and Pakistan) is a person who earns a living as the driver of a truck (usually a semi truck, box truck or dump truck).

Duties and functions

Truck drivers provide an essential service to industrialized societies by transporting finished goods and raw materials over land, typically to and from manufacturing plants, retail and distribution centers. Truck drivers are also responsible for inspecting their vehicles for mechanical items or issues relating to safe operation. Others, such as driver/sales workers, are also responsible for sales and customer service.

There are three major types of truck driver employment:

Trucker (film)

Trucker is a 2008 dramatic independent film by Plum Pictures, starring Michelle Monaghan and Jimmy Bennett. It was written and directed by James Mottern, and produced by Scott Hanson, Galt Niederhoffer, Celine Rattray and Daniela Taplin Lundberg.

Plot

Diane Ford (Michelle Monaghan) is a long-haul truck driver. She spends her off time having one-night stands and drinking vodka with her married neighbor, Runner (Nathan Fillion). Her routine life is upset when her ex-husband Len (Benjamin Bratt) sends their 10-year-old son Peter (Jimmy Bennett) to stay with her while Len attempts recovery from cancer treatment.

Dead bolt

A dead bolt, deadbolt or dead lock is a locking mechanism distinct from a spring bolt lock because a deadbolt cannot be moved to the open position except by rotating the lock cylinder with the key. The more common spring bolt lock uses a spring to hold the bolt in place, allowing retraction by applying force to the bolt itself. A deadbolt can therefore make a door more resistant to entry without the correct key.

A deadbolt is often used to complement a spring-bolt lock on an entry door to a building.

Common types

A deadlock, if it is cylinder operated, may be either single cylinder or double cylinder. A single cylinder deadlock will accept a key on one side of the lock, but is operated by a twist knob on the other side. Double cylinder locks will accept a key on both sides and therefore do not require (and often do not have) any twist knob. This prevents unwanted unlocking of the door by forced access to the interior twist knob (via a nearby window, for example). Double cylinder locks are sometimes banned from areas because they can be difficult to open from the inside and violate fire safety regulations. Some lock manufacturers also have a "lockable" knob: a key is always needed on one side (usually external), and a twist knob can be used on the other (internal), unless a button has been pressed, in which case a key is also needed on the internal side.
