Triss is a fantasy novel by Brian Jacques, published in 2002. It is the 15th book in the Redwall series.
Enslaved by the evil ferret King Agarnu of Riftgard, and his cruel daughter, Kurda, the brave squirrelmaid Triss plans a daring escape by sea. At the same time, far away in Salamandastron, three young companions sail away from their mountain home too, but for a very different reason - they are seeking adventure.
Meanwhile, in Mossflower Woods, a pair of wandering Dibbuns accidentally discover the long-lost entrance to Brockhall, the most legendary home of the Badger Lords. The three groups of travellers are drawn together by fate, when Triss comes to Redwall, and the inhabitants of the abbey find that they have a new champion - someone brave enough to carry the sword of Martin the Warrior and face the evil that threatens them all.
At Riftgard, an isle in the far north, the ferret king, King Agarnu, and his cruel offspring, Princess Kurda and Prince Bladd hold sway over a Ratguard army and enslaved creatures. One of the slaves, Trisscar Swordmaid escapes with her friends Shogg and Welfo, southward to Mossflower. In the attempt, her friend Drufo is killed. Meanwhile, Kurda hires a pirate ship, the Seascab, captained by Plugg Firetail, to take her to Mossflower, where she must find the royal artifacts of Riftgard in order to seal her queenship.
Shannara /ˈʃænərə/ is a series of high fantasy novels written by Terry Brooks, beginning with The Sword of Shannara in 1977 and continuing through The Darkling Child which was released in June 2015; there is also a prequel, First King of Shannara. The series blends magic and primitive technology and is set in the Four Lands, which are identified as Earth long after civilization was destroyed in a chemical and nuclear holocaust called the Great Wars. By the time of the prequel First King of Shannara, the world had reverted to a pre-industrial state and magic had re-emerged to supplement science.
The Shannara series is set in a post-apocalyptic world called the Four Lands. This world is a futuristic version of our own, and not a secondary world. The Genesis of Shannara trilogy reveals the Four Lands to be located in the modern Pacific Northwest region of the United States and Canada. Much of the landscape has been changed by a future holocaust called The Great Wars, but some landmarks remain. For example, the Columbia River still exists.
War in the living room,
We swore we weren't like that.
Once we went down that road,
There was no turning back.
Anger and jealousy
And distorted fact,
Left this pale shadow
of a life we once had.
How could you love and then
Change just like that?
You give your whole heart away
Then take it all back.
This is the end of the line tonight
We can't defend what we know ain't right.
It's over, it's over, it's over,
This love we should let die.
This is the end of the line.
Broken down promises
Linger on in my head.
The scars and the blemishes
that time could not mend.
How can you live losing
All we once had?
Come on now, little girl,
It ain't quite that bad.
This is the end the line Tonight
We can't defend what
we know ain't right
It's over, it's over, it's over
This love we should let die.
This is the end of the line.
Nothing but love gets you
so hypnotized.
Nothing but love brings
them tears to your eyes.
Nothing but love takes
away all your pride.
Nothing but love eats
You away inside.
This is the end of the line Tonight.
We can't defend what we know ain't right.
Two worlds amend, oh ya and
Two worlds collide.
It's over, it's over, it's Over
This love we should let die.
It's been coming for some time.
So goodnight and goodbye.
This is the end
This is the end
