Tripoto

Tripoto is a travel community and travel search engine portal based on user-generated content . The platform was launched on October 2013 by founders Anirudh Gupta and Michael Pargal Lyngdoh. Tripoto allows users to write travel stories and discover those written by other travellers. The website maps every destination in each story along with relevant content and pictures from real travellers. After registering to use the website, users can create a profile, share travel stories, read other travellers’ tales, follow their work and exchange messages.

History

Michael and Anirudha came up with the idea of Tripoto while doing an MBA at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad Before this, Gupta, who is an Indian Institute of Technology Delhi alumnus, had co-founded another Startup company called Notion Ink. He had also been the Entrepreneur in Residence at Rocket Internet in Dubai for a year. Lyngdoh has a Master of Economics from the Delhi School of Economics, and had earlier founded a start-up in the Space-based solar power.
