Trick (TV series)

Trick comprises a comedic Japanese television drama and movie series (three seasons, four movies, and three feature-length TV specials), as well as associated comic books, novelizations and meta-fiction novels about a failed magician and an arrogant physicist who debunks fraudulent spiritualists. It stars Hiroshi Abe and Yukie Nakama and is shown on TV Asahi (digital TV channel 5). It was created by Japanese director Yukihiko Tsutsumi.

Synopsis

Although 23-year-old Naoko Yamada (Yukie Nakama) considers herself a beautiful and talented magician, she is continuously fired and constantly hounded by her landlady for the rent being late. Before firing her, her manager shows Yamada an ad for a physics professor, Jiro Ueda (Hiroshi Abe), a non-believer of all things magical, offering money to anyone who can prove to him that magic is real. Desperately needing the money, Naoko accepts the challenge, which is how she comes to meet Professor Ueda. Falling prey to her simple magic tricks, Ueda is impressed, and enlists the reluctant Naoko to help him uncover the tricks behind a local cult. Soon, they are debunking spiritualists. Eventually Ueda develops a reputation for solving supernatural cases, but his secret weapon is Yamada, who hates the work but needs the money.

Trick (Kumi Koda album)

Trick (stylized as TRICK) is the seventh studio album released by J-Urban singer Koda Kumi. The album continued her #1 streak and stayed on the Oricon charts for twenty-nine weeks. It was released on January 28, 2009 and came in CD and CD+2DVD with the latter being a limited edition and the second DVD containing her LIVE DVD 「KODA KUMI SPECIAL LIVE “Dirty Ballroom” 〜One Night Show〜」. The limited editions of both versions carried the bonus track Venus, originally released by Shocking Blue in 1969.

On the first DVD, there are six secret videos, which could be accessed by clicking on Koda Kumi's left eye on the menu screen. On the second DVD, there is also a secret video accessed by clicking on the clown's nose. A full version for the introduction on the album was later performed during her Live Tour 2009 ~TRICK~.

Music Videos

Two new videos were made for the album: JUST THE WAY YOU ARE and show girl. There was also the "album version" of That Ain't Cool feat. Fergie, which carried more of a story compared to its single-released predecessor.

Trick (Kele album)

Trick is the second solo album by Kele Okereke, the lead singer of British indie rock band Bloc Party. It was released on 13 October 2014 through Lilac Records. It entered the UK Albums Chart at number 99.

Panic Channel (パニックちゃんねる, sometimes written PANIC☆ch) was an independent Japanese visual kei rock band signed to Mission Music Factory. They perform under two personae: パニックちゃんねる is their gothy visual kei side, and PANIC☆ch is a light visual boy band side.

Biography

Panic Channel (known in Japanese as パニックちゃんねる pronounced as panikku channeru) was founded by Meguru (ex- GARASU), Kana, and Tara in November 2002. In January 2003, the line-up of the band consisted of Meguru (Vo), Kana (G), Tsubasa (G), Tara (Ba), and Yuusuke (Dr). After two months, in March 2003 the band decided to show their “second face.” The alter ego PANIC☆ch was born.

Panic Channel gave their debut in May of that year at the Osaka club Vijon where they sold their first video tape Panic Channel Kyouzai Video. After that event, the band started advance; they had one gig after another, always switching between the two egos during the long line of events.

The band had its first oneman at the Urawa Narciss on 21 September 2003. It was completely sold out. One day later, they sold their first single Debutsen ~minna no chikai hen~ which sold out the same day, it has not been printed again. Panic Channel kept on performing, most of the time at the Meguro Rock May Kan. Towards the end of the year, they released their first mini-album.
