Abort (album)

Abort is the second album from the Boston, MA alternative band Tribe. It is also their major label debut after being signed up by Warner Bros. Records. The album was released in August 27, 1991, (see, 1991 in music) a year after "Here at the Home".

The album is mostly re-recorded versions of tracks from "Here at the Home"; eight of the ten tracks from "Here at the Home" were re-recorded for "Abort" (the track "Pinwheels" was also re-recorded for "Abort" but in the end was never put on the album and instead, it was released as a b-side in the "Easter Dinner E.P."), with four brand new tracks.

Three singles were released from the album as EPs; "Easter Dinner", "Payphone", and "Joyride (I Saw the Film)", the latter of which also spawned the band's first ever music video.

CONFIG.SYS

CONFIG.SYS is the primary configuration file for the DOS and OS/2 operating systems. It is a special ASCII text file that contains user-accessible setup or configuration directives evaluated by the operating system during boot. CONFIG.SYS was introduced with DOS 2.0.

Usage

The directives in this file configure DOS for use with devices and applications in the system. The CONFIG.SYS directives also set up the memory managers in the system. After processing the CONFIG.SYS file, DOS proceeds to load and execute the command shell specified in the SHELL line of CONFIG.SYS, or COMMAND.COM if there is no such line. The command shell in turn is responsible for processing the AUTOEXEC.BAT file.

CONFIG.SYS is composed mostly of name=value directives which look like variable assignments. In fact, these will either define some tunable parameters often resulting in reservation of memory, or load files, mostly device drivers and TSRs, into memory.

In DOS, CONFIG.SYS is located in the root directory of the drive from which the system was booted.

Tribeč

Tribeč is a crystalline mountain range in western Slovakia, in the Inner Western Carpathians within the Fatra-Tatra Area, roughly between the towns of Nitra, Partizánske and Zlaté Moravce. It is surrounded by the Danubian Lowland, Pohronský Inovec, Vtáčnik mountains and the Upper Nitra Basin. It is 50 km long and has maximum width of 18 km. Beech trees are predominating in the area. The highest mountain is Veľký Tribeč at 829.6 m (2,721.8 ft). The area belongs to the Ponitrie Protected Landscape Area.

Tribe (biology)

In biology, a tribe is a taxonomic rank above genus, but below family and subfamily. It is sometimes subdivided into subtribes.

In zoology, some examples include the tribes Caprini (goat-antelopes), Hominini (hominins), Bombini (bumblebees), and Thunnini (tunas). The standard ending for the name of a zoological tribe is "-ini". The tribe Hominini is divided into subtribes by some scientists; subtribe Hominina then comprises "humans". The standard ending for the name of a zoological subtribe is "-ina".

In botany, examples include the tribes Acalypheae and Hyacintheae. The standard ending for the name of a botanical tribe is "-eae". The tribe Hyacintheae is divided into subtribes, including the subtribe Massoniinae. The standard ending for the name of a botanical subtribe is "-inae".

In bacteriology, the form of tribe names is as in botany, e.g., Pseudomonadeae, based on the genus name Pseudomonas.
