Tony Gardner

Tony Gardner (born 10 January 1964) is an English actor and doctor. He qualified as a doctor at Guy's Hospital in 1987, then as a general practitioner in 1993. He combined medicine and comedy during the 1990s as half of the award-winning comedy duo Struck Off and Die with Phil Hammond.

He eventually left medicine to become an actor, starring in a number of TV commercials including that for the Renault Megane and reached prominence playing Brian Johnson in CITV's My Parents Are Aliens (episodes of which he also wrote) and Michael, the café owner in Jack Dee's BBC sitcom Lead Balloon. In 2009-10 he starred in three plays directed by Sir Peter Hall. In 2011 he played Professor Tony Shales in Channel 4 series Fresh Meat.

Between 2012-2016 he played John in four series of the critically acclaimed romantic drama series Last Tango In Halifax. The programme attracted impressive ratings for BBC One, with the third series posting an average of 7.8 million viewers.

Between 2013-2015 he appeared as Lieutenant Colonel Phillip Smith in three series of the wartime comedy Bluestone 42, about a British bomb disposal detachment in Afghanistan during Operation Herrick. He also appeared as Dan Miller MP in the BBC political comedy The Thick of It. He was also a main character of the music video "Giant peach" by Wolf Alice. He also starred in a 2016 Tracey Ullmans show sketch parodying Angela Merkel.

Jo Bennett

Joleen MaryAnn "Jo" Bennett (Kathy Bates) is the CEO of Sabre, the company that buys Dunder Mifflin in season 6. In season 8 she gives up the CEO position but remains chairman of the board. She is a forthright and stubborn Southern woman who has authored an autobiography titled Take A Good Look. She owns two harlequin Great Danes and a white Cadillac Escalade Hybrid; she is also a breast cancer survivor, a licensed pilot and a friend of Nancy Pelosi.

Tony Gardner (designer)

Tony Gardner (born in 1965, Cleveland, Ohio) is an American makeup and special effects designer. He has designed and created effects for many feature films, including the films Zombieland, 127 Hours, Hairspray, Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa, The Addams Family, Seed of Chucky, Shallow Hal and There's Something About Mary. Gardner helped create the signature helmets for Daft Punk, as well as an animatronic robot for their "Technologic" music video. He wrote and directed Daft Punk's music video for the song "The Prime Time of Your Life" and associate produced and populated a world full of robots for the duo's feature-length directorial debut, Daft Punk's Electroma. Beyond the film-making arena, Gardner's special effects company Alterian, Inc. has also designed and created the popular GEICO Cavemen characters as well as the current iteration of Smokey Bear.

Alterian's makeup effects for Johnny Knoxville's character in Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa were nominated for an Academy Award as well as a Makeup Artist & Hair Stylist Guild Award, and won the Makeup Artist & Hair Stylist Guild Award for Best Special Makeup Effects in the Feature Film category for 2014.
