Tommy Flanagan
Thomas Lee Flanagan (March 16, 1930 – November 16, 2001) was an American jazz pianist and composer. He grew up in Detroit, initially influenced by pianists Art Tatum, Teddy Wilson, and Nat King Cole, and then by the newer bebop musicians. Within months of moving to New York in 1956, he had recorded with Miles Davis and on Sonny Rollins' landmark Saxophone Colossus. Recordings under various leaders, including the historically important Giant Steps of John Coltrane, and The Incredible Jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery, continued well into 1962, when he became vocalist Ella Fitzgerald's full-time accompanist. He stayed for three years, then returned to be her pianist and musical director in 1968, and stayed for a decade.
After leaving Fitzgerald again, Flanagan attracted praise for the elegance of his playing, which was principally in trio settings when under his own leadership. In his 45-year recording career, he recorded more than three dozen albums under his own name and more than 200 as a sideman. By the time of his death he was one of the most widely admired of jazz pianists and had influenced both his contemporaries and later generations of players.

Tommy Flanagan (born 3 July 1965, Glasgow) is a Scottish film and television actor.
Early life
Born in Easterhouse, Glasgow, as a child he served as an altar boy.
Flanagan is the third of five children. His distinctive facial scars, known as a "Glasgow smile", are the result of a knife attack outside a nightclub where he had been working as a DJ.
Personal life
Flanagan and ex-wife Dina Livingston welcomed a baby girl in early 2012. He was previously married to actress/casting director/assistant director Rachel Schadt from 1998-2001; Schadt had co-starred with Flanagan in the David Fincher film The Game (1997), in which she played a hotel maid. He was also married to Jane Ford from 2007-2010.
Career
His first television roles were in Screen One (1992) and Taggart (1993). Flanagan worked in Robert Carlyle's Raindog Theatre for three years before being cast in Braveheart (1995). He has had roles in Face/Off (1997), The Game (1997), Sunset Strip (2000), Gladiator (2000), All About the Benjamins (2002), Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003), Alien vs. Predator (2004), Sin City (2005), Smokin' Aces (2006), When a Stranger Calls (2006), The Last Drop (2006), Smokin' Aces 2: Assassins' Ball (2010), and the TV mini-series Attila.
