Tom Taylor (19 October 1817 – 12 July 1880) was an English dramatist, critic, biographer, public servant, and editor of Punch magazine. He wrote about 100 plays during his career, including Our American Cousin (1858), famous as the play which was being performed in the presence of American President Abraham Lincoln when he was assassinated in 1865.
Taylor was born into a wealthy family at Bishopwearmouth, present day Sunderland, in north-east England. His father owned a brewery. After attending school at the Grange in Sunderland, and studying for two sessions at the University of Glasgow, he became a student of Cambridge University's Trinity College in 1837. In 1840 he received a B.A. with honors in both classics and mathematics, and a master's degree in 1843.
Taylor began his working life as a journalist. Soon after moving to London, he wrote for the Morning Chronicle and the Daily News. He was on the staff of Punch magazine until 1874, when he succeeded Charles William Shirley Brooks as editor. He was also was an art critic for The Times and The Graphic.
Thomas Alex Ian Taylor (born 21 December 1994) is an English cricketer, who plays for Derbyshire. He is a right-arm medium-fast bowler who also bats right-handed. He made his debut on 8 June 2014 in the 2014 County Championship against Leicestershire.
Tom Taylor (born Henry Thomas Taylor; July 7, 1911 — July 20, 1970) was a Welsh cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman who played first-class cricket for Glamorgan. He was born in Cardiff and died in Pontypridd.
Having played club cricket with St. Fagans during the 1930s, Taylor played three first-class matches for Glamorgan between 1932 and 1934, though he had little success with the bat - sixteen of his seventeen first-class runs coming in a single innings. Between 1935 and 1950 Taylor played in at least six Minor Counties Championship matches for Glamorgan's Second XI - and during this decade he also took charge of four matches as umpire.
Thomas James Taylor (born (1989-03-11)11 March 1989) is a New Zealand rugby union footballer. He plays as a Inside Centre or Fly-Half for the Crusaders in Super Rugby. and Canterbury in the ITM Cup. He can also play Fullback as well.
He made his debut for the New Zealand national side, the All Blacks, in 2013.
In the 2009, affiliated with the Canterbury ITM side, Taylor was involved in the champion New Zealand Under 20 team along with Zac Guildford and captain Aaron Cruden.
In 2011 Taylor debuted for Canterbury against North Otago. He trained with the Crusaders and was part of the Canterbury squad that went on to win that year's ITM Cup Championship final against Waikato.
In November 2011 he was named in the Crusaders squad for 2012. In his first start, against the Cheetahs in March 2012, Taylor opened the Crusaders scoring with a penalty six minutes in. He had a successful game with the boot and ended up converting the game's final try, for Crusaders to win 28–21. The next week, playing at inside centre against the Lions, he kicked two penalties and three conversions and the Crusaders won 23–13. On 14 April he was back at fly-half to help the Crusaders end the Stormers unbeaten run. Taylor scored a try, converted it, and kicked eight penalties from eight attempts.
Thomas Sylvester "Tom" Taylor (December 4, 1880 – August 15, 1945) was a Canadian amateur football (soccer) player who competed in the 1904 Summer Olympics.
He was born in Ontario. In 1904 he was a member of the Galt F.C. team, which won the gold medal in the football tournament. He played all two matches as a forward and scored three goals.

He has founded his own company, Gaming Lessons, which tutors prospective professional gamers on various video games, specifically on the Halo series. Several other professional gamers from MLG are also employed by Gaming Lessons as instructors. His home town is Syracuse, New York.

The Deep was optioned by Technicolor and is set to become a 26 episode CG animated series, with Taylor serving as creator/head writer.
In 2012, The Deep: Here Be Dragons won the Aurealis Award for Best illustrated book/graphic novel, Australia's premier speculative fiction literary award. The sequel, The Vanishing Island, won the award again in 2014.
