Thomas or Tom Franklin may refer to:
"Captain" Tom Franklin (born October 23, 1950) is an American professional poker player born in Fresno, California.
Franklin's poker career began in the 1970s. His first cash at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) took place in 1990, finishing 24th in the $10,000 no limit hold'em championship event. Franklin won a WSOP bracelet in 1999 in the $2,500 limit Omaha event.
In 2005, Franklin won a preliminary No Limit Holdem event at the Bellagio Casino's Five Diamond Classic, picking up $434,025 for the win.
As of 2009, his total live tournament winnings exceed $2,600,000. His 28 cashes at the WSOP account for $985,084 of those winnings.
Thomas St George Franklin (born 11 August 1990) is a New Zealand rugby union player. He plays in the lock position for the Otago based Super Rugby side the Highlanders, and for provincial side Otago. Franklin has played at under-20 level for New Zealand being a part of the successful New Zealand unders-20 team that won the 2010 Junior World Championship in Argentina. He made his debut for Otago in 2011 and his strong performances saw him named in the Highlanders squad for the 2014 Super Rugby season.
Thomas Gerald Franklin (born 1962) is an American crime fiction writer originally from Dickinson, Alabama. His first novel, Hell at the Breech (2003), is a fictionalized version of a violent episode near the author's home. He is author of the novels Hell at the Breech (2003), Smonk (2006), and Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter (2010) which won the Crime Writers' Association Gold Dagger Award. Franklin's first book is collection of short stories, Poachers (1999). In 1998 he received his MFA from the University of Arkansas, where he met his wife, poet Beth Ann Fennelly. He co-wrote the novel The Tilted World (2013) with Fennelly. He is currently an associate professor at the University of Mississippi.
