Tired of Waiting for You

"Tired of Waiting for You" was a hit 1965 rock song by the English band The Kinks. The song was released as a single on 15 January 1965 in the UK and on 17 February 1965 in the USA. It then appeared on their second studio album Kinda Kinks.

Background

According to Ray Davies, the music for "Tired of Waiting for You" was written on the train to the recording studio and the words were written at a coffee shop during a break in the session.

During the recording sessions for the song, the band felt that the guitar sound evident on their previous two singles ("You Really Got Me" and "All Day and All of the Night") was missing. Although the band was concerned that the guitar would ruin the reflective track, the band felt that the guitar added more to the song. Dave Davies said:

Davies also said of the song, "It was a change of style for us, we got a bit posher! Our material started to get a bit more melodic after that."

The song was recorded late August 1964 at Pye Studios (No. 2), London, with additional guitar overdub at IBC Studios, London on 29 December 1964. "Come On Now" was recorded 22 or 23 December 1964 at Pye Studios (No. 2).

The album is preceded by the release of the promotional single "This", which along its music video was premiered on May 4, 2015. The music video for the official lead single "I Remember", directed by Danny Land, was revealed the same day the album came out.

Six by Seven

Six by Seven (also written as SIX.BY SEVEN or six.by seven or six.byseven) are a Nottingham-based indie rock band who originally consisted of Chris Olley on vocals and guitars, James Flower on keyboards, Sam Hempton on guitar, Paul Douglas on bass and Chris Davis on drums. Exponents of building, atmospheric drone-rock, influenced heavily by bands such as My Bloody Valentine and Spacemen 3 they found a niche in the industry with a considerable underground following, but despite some attempts to commercialise their sound, this never crossed over into mainstream success. After splitting up in 2008, the band reformed in 2012 with Olley and Flower the only original members.

Formation

The group formed in Nottingham in 1996 after having played initially under the name "Friends Of..." since their first gig at the Old Angel in Nottingham in late 1992. After recording several demos and playing gigs, the band attracted record company interest, and played to a room full of A&R men in Leicester's Charlotte. The room emptied before the first 15-minute song was complete. Undeterred, the band continued to write and record. Bass player Paul Douglas joined later that year.

Waiting For You (Chinese: 在這裡等你; pinyin: zai zhe li deng ni) is the third Mandarin studio album of Taiwanese Mandopop quartet boy band F4. Two versions of the album were released on 28 December 2007 by Sony Music Taiwan: Waiting For You (Await Your Love Edition) (在這裡等你 等待摯愛版) and Waiting For You (Feel Your Heart Edition) (在這裡等你 體驗真心版). A collectable edition was released on 5 February 2008, Waiting For You (Special Collectable Edition) (在這裡等你 新春慶功版) with a 16-page photo booklet and bonus DVD with footage from F4's New Songs World Premiere Showcase (F4全球新歌發表會) at Tamshui Fisherman's Wharf, Taipei, Taiwan on 19 January 2008.

The album is organized in the style of a split album with two group tracks and two solo tracks by each group member.
