Spot (producer)

Spot, (born Glen Lockett in 1951), is a record producer best known for being the house producer and engineer for the influential independent punk record label SST Records. He recorded, mixed, produced or co-produced most of SST's pivotal acts between 1979 and 1985. He is credited on albums by such notable bands as Black Flag, Minutemen, Meat Puppets, Hüsker Dü, Saint Vitus, Descendents, Minor Threat, Misfits, Big Boys and The Dicks. Spot has also produced several acts outside of SST and started his own label, No Auditions, in 1987. An accomplished musician and multi-instrumentalist, Spot later retired from producing to concentrate on performing, releasing his own material on No Auditions and, in 2000, on Upland Records (a label owned by former members of Descendents). He also played fidola on This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb's "Dance Party With...".

Much of it stems from the industry's origins in the days of carnivals and circuses, and the slang itself is often referred to as "carny talk." In the past, wrestlers used such terms in the presence of fans so as not to reveal the worked nature of the business. Spot (fish)

The Spot (Leiostomus xanthurus) or Norfolk spot is a small short-lived saltwater fish in the family Sciaenidae. The species inhabits estuary and coastal waters from Massachusetts to Texas, and derives its name from the prominent dark spot behind each gill. It is the only species in the genus Leiostomus. Spot are frequently caught by recreational anglers and are good to eat.

Their diet consists largely of organic detritus, small crustaceans, and worms. Bloodworms are the ideal bait when fishing for spot.

Spot are the natural prey of the following fish: striped bass, flounder, sandbar shark, dog fish, weakfish, puppy drum, red drum, black drum, spotted seatrout, Atlantic mackerel, king mackerel, spanish mackerel, barracuda, cobia, black sea bass, tautog, tarpon, dolphin. The list can go on for some time however these are some of the most known predators of the spot fish.

Fishermen also use juvenile spot as whole live bait to catch summer founder, spotted seatrout, puppy drum and tautog as well as several other species.

Timeless (Jim Ankan Deka album)

Timeless is a multilingual album by Assamese musician Jim Ankan Deka. The album was recorded in 2012. The CD contains seven tracks while the digital version has only five tracks. The album is a tribute to Indian music maestros Dr. Bhupen Hazarika and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, writer Bhabananda Deka and the National anthem of India.

Overview

The album is a collaboration with Bengali singer Ritwika Bhattacharya, Carnatic vocalist and veena player Suchethan Rangaswamy and US based poet Mardee Agen. While three of the tracks Eastwards, Independence Awekening and Remember your Faith are instrumental, Shabd (Hindi), Ganga (Hindi) and Tere Bin Nahi Lagda (Punjabi) are sung by Ritwika and Xobdor Porisoy (Assamese) by Jim himself. Eastwards is the only fusion track of the album. It has the essence of Carnatic music and Acoustic rock. Remember Your Faith is based on a poem by Mardee Agen. The album is produced by Bangalore based music institute Eastern Fare Music Foundation.

Timeless (Sérgio Mendes album)

Timeless is a collaborative album, recorded and released by Brazilian artist Sérgio Mendes, and produced by American rapper, songwriter and producer will.i.am. The album was released on February 13, 2006. The album features many neo soul and alternative hip hop guest artists, including John Legend, Q-Tip and Justin Timberlake. The album was produced entirely by will.i.am, and was released via Concord Records and the will.i.am Music Group. The album's lead single, "Mas Que Nada", was featured on commercials for both Joga Bonito and Nike Football, as well EA Sports' NBA Live 07 and the 2006 FIFA World Cup video games. Two further singles were released from the album: "That Heat", and "Yes Yes Y'all". The album reaches across styles, combining neo soul, bossa nova, samba, hip hop, and even flavors of reggaeton.

Timeless is Hong Kong Mandopop artist Khalil Fong's cover album. It was released on August 11, 2009.

In Timeless, Khalil selected 10 classic songs to cover, including Stevie Wonder’s “You Are The Sunshine Of My Life”, Glenn Medeiros’s Nothing's Gonna Change My Love for You, Michael Jackson’s Bad, Ray Charles’s Georgia on My Mind and Eric Clapton’s Wonderful Tonight. Apart from English songs, he covered the Mandarin classics like Faye Wang’s Red Bean and A-mei’s Remember. He also recorded and released his first Cantonese song, Kuang Chao (Violent Tides) (originally sang by Susanna Kwan).
