Wall (play)

Wall is a 2009 play by David Hare, in the form of a monologue. It was first performed in March 2009 at the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs at the Royal Court Theatre by the author himself, directed by Stephen Daldry. Its topic is the Israeli Security Barriers in the West Bank and Gaza and it is intended by Hare as a companion piece to his monologue Berlin and its passages on the Berlin Wall.

Walking Stiletto

The Walking Stiletto is a robot supervillain created by Stan Lee, John Romita, Sr., and Sal Buscema, first appeared in Captain America #114 (June 1969). Within the context of the stories, the Walking Stiletto is a creation and agent of AIM. When Sharon Carter attacks a group of AIM leaders, they let loose the Stiletto to attack her, but she is saved by Captain America and Rick Jones, who destroy the robot. Many years later, the Walking Stiletto is among the robotic collection of the Reanimator, who unleashes it on Wolverine and Nova. Wolverine eviscerates the Walking Stiletto, rendering it inoperative.

Wall

Wall is a mutant whose first appearance was in Cable vol. 2 #79. Wall was a member of Randall Shire's small traveling carnival in Australia before Shire was possessed by the alien Undying known as Semijan and subsequently enslaved Wall and his brother Key with his mutant vocal power. Wall is a low-level mutant whose body is denser than adamantium, and is resistant to injury. Wall also possesses enhanced strength.

The Wall mansion (Chinese: 壁宿; pinyin: Bì Xiù) is one of the Twenty-eight mansions of the Chinese constellations. It is one of the northern mansions of the Black Tortoise.

Exposure is the fourth novel in the Virals series of novels for young adults written by the American forensic anthropologist and crime writer, Kathy Reichs and her son Brendan Reichs, featuring Tory Brennan, great-niece of Temperance Brennan.

Plot

The story starts some time after the ending of Code, the third book in the series. However, it's not long before things start to go wrong. Twins Lucy and Peter Gable, classmates of the Virals, have been kidnapped, and the police seem baffled. The Virals decide to investigate, but matters become worse when Tory's best female friend, Ella, goes missing as well.

This is a list of episodes of the Japanese animated TV series Planetes (プラネテス, Puranetesu, Ancient Greek: πλάνητες "Wanderers") It began airing its 26 episode run on NHK BS-2 on October 4, 2003 and ended on February 23, 2004. Produced and animated by Sunrise, it was directed by Gorō Taniguchi and scripted by Ichirō Ōkouchi (both of whom would later reunite in 2006 to work on the Sunrise original production Code Geass). The anime began development and production before the end of the manga serialization. In the beginning and middle of the series, the writing and production staff only had the first three volumes of the manga as source. In order to fill the entire 26 episode run of the anime, new characters, new settings and new relationships between characters were made in order to increase dramatic tension, reinforce themes introduced in the manga, and introduce new themes that were compatible with the manga. While the manga deals more with existential themes, and humanity's relationship with space, the anime further expands the political elements of the story.

Exposure (radiation)

Exposure is a measure of the ionization of air due to ionizing radiation from photons, that is, gamma rays and X-rays. It is defined to be the electric charge freed by the radiation divided by the mass of the air. As a measure of radiation damage it is less useful than the analogous concept of absorbed dose, nevertheless since exposure is convenient to measure directly in gaseous ionization detectors and since it is easily converted to dose, it is commonly used in the nuclear industry.

The SI unit of exposure is the coulomb per kilogram, however the roentgen is commonly used internationally in the nuclear industry. There are approximately 3876 roentgens in one coulomb per kilogram.

Exposure to dose conversion

Dose is the measure of energy per unit mass deposited by ionizing radiation. For a given radiation field, the dose will depend on the type of matter which absorbs the radiation. For instance, for an exposure of 1 roentgen by gamma rays with an energy of 1 MeV, the dose in air will be 0.877 rad, the dose in water will be 0.975 rad, the dose in silicon will be 0.877 rad, and the dose in averaged human tissue will be 0.965 rad. A table giving the exposure to dose conversion for these four materials for a variety of gamma ray energies can be found in the reference.
