The Paramour Sessions

The Paramour Sessions is the fifth album by Californian rock band Papa Roach. It was released on September 12, 2006. While prerecording, the band rented the Paramour Mansion, which the album name reflects. Like Getting Away with Murder, the album follows the alternative rock and hard rock sound and has plenty of solos, although the song ...To Be Loved has only one rapping section in the beginning, the song is hard rock and the rapping goes faster which leads into screaming making it different from their usual sound in their first two albums. The album mostly deals about relationships and love themes. Two singles were released from the album: "...To Be Loved" and "Forever". The deluxe edition of the album was released on July 5, 2007. This album was the last the band recorded with drummer Dave Buckner.

Dedication to Howard William Roatch

The album was dedicated in the memory of Jacoby Shaddix's step-grandfather, Howard William Roatch AKA "Papa Roach" the band's namesake who committed suicide in 2006, following his diagnosis with an unspecified form of advanced stage cancer. The song "Roses on My Grave" was also written in his memory as well. His dedication reads:

    Time Is Running Out

    by: Papa Roach

You say I?m looking really bad
You say I?m looking really sick
    And I don?t even care
    I never really did
So when push comes to shove
And I slap you in the face
    Just remember one thing
When it's time you fill the void
My whole life has been destroyed
    And everyone around me says
    My time is running out
    I refuse to surrender
    I refuse to surrender
So when I?m out of control
And I?m out of my mind
    Just remember one thing
    I think I?m just fine
So catch me when I fall
I won?t remember anything at all
So catch me when I fall
When it's time you fill the void
My whole life has been destroyed
    And everyone around me says
    My time is running out
    I refuse to surrender
    I refuse to surrender
When it's time you fill the void
My whole life has been destroyed
    And everyone around me says
    My time is running out
When it's time you fill the void
My whole life has been destroyed
    And everyone around me says
    My time is running out
    I refuse to surrender
    I refuse to surrender
    I refuse to surrender
