Timothy James Arthur Wheeler (born 4 January 1977), known as Tim Wheeler, is a Northern Irish guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist for the rock band Ash. He formed the band with Mark Hamilton and they were originally called Vietnam. Wheeler can be seen playing a Korina Gibson Flying V in almost all of Ash's music videos. He has written nearly all of their notable pieces such as "Oh Yeah", "Shining Light", "Girl From Mars", "Kung Fu", and "Goldfinger". In September 2014 Tim announced details of his debut solo album "Lost Domain" with a release date of 3 November 2014.
Wheeler was born in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland. He attended Down High School with his fellow band members Mark Hamilton and Rick McMurray.
He won the Ivor Novello Award for Best Contemporary Pop Song in 2001 for Shining Light.
In 1999 Wheeler contributed guitar & backing vocals on The Rentals' album Seven More Minutes. Wheeler has also contributed backing vocals Bob Geldof's Band Aid 20 2004 single "Do They Know It's Christmas?" and on Arthur Baker's song, "Glow".

Wheeler attended El Camino Fundamental High School in Sacramento, California. He was a two-sport athlete, playing in the outfield for the baseball team and playing quarterback and defensive back in football.
Wheeler played college baseball at Sacramento State University. In 2009, he was named a second team All-American by Baseball America after hitting .385 with 18 home runs and 72 runs batted in.
Wheeler was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the first round of the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft. Prior to the 2010 season, he was ranked as the Rockies' seventh best prospect by Baseball America. His best minor league season came in 2011 with the Class AA Tulsa squad. He hit 33 home runs that season.
Prior to the 2012 season, Baseball America rated him the Rockies' fifth best prospect. However, he suffered a fracture of the hamate bone in his right hand only a few days into the season. He missed significant time that season, finishing with a .303 batting average and 2 home runs in 92 games.
Timothy Wheeler DL (born 1950), is Vice-Chancellor of the University of Chester. He was Appointed Principal of University College Chester in 1998 and became the first Vice-Chancellor of the University of Chester in 2005.
He was educated at the University College of North Wales, Bangor, where he studied as an undergraduate and subsequently gained a Doctorate in Psychology.
Wheeler held lectureships in Psychology and Communications at Sheffield Hallam University in the 1970s, was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Human Studies at Dublin City University and, in 1985, Professor and Head of the School of Social Studies at the Robert Gordon University.
Combined with a period as Senior Visiting Research Scholar at St John's College, Oxford, he was Head of the Department of Communication and Media at Bournemouth University. He moved to Southampton Institute in 1991 as a member of the Directorate. He became Acting Director in 1997.
