Tim Sale (artist)

Tim Sale (born May 1, 1956) is an American Eisner Award-winning comic book artist. He is primarily known for his collaborations with writer Jeph Loeb.

Early life

Tim Sale was born on May 1, 1956 in Ithaca, New York, but spent most of his early life in Seattle, Washington, having moved there with his family at age six. He attended the University of Washington for two years before moving to New York to attend the School of Visual Arts, as well as the comics workshop run by artist John Buscema. Before he graduated from SVA, Sale returned to Seattle.

Career

Tim began doing art for the series Myth Adventures in 1983, and was soon working on Thieves' World.

The body of Sale's comics work has been with collaborator Jeph Loeb. The duo, credited in their comics as 'storytellers', produced popular work such as the "Year 1"-centered Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight Halloween Specials,Batman: The Long Halloween,Batman: Dark Victory, as well as Superman for All Seasons and Catwoman: When in Rome. At Marvel Comics, the team has produced the so-called "color" books such as Daredevil: Yellow,Spider-Man: Blue, and Hulk: Gray. A Captain America: White limited series was announced in 2008 but only a #0 issue was published. The long-delayed project finally saw print in September 2015.

Tim Sale (politician)

Edward Timothy "Tim" Sale (born February 5, 1942) is a former Manitoba politician and member of the Premier Gary Doer's cabinet.

Biography

The son of Edward Sale and Grace Watson, he was born in Goderich, Ontario in 1942. He received Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Theology degrees from the University of Trinity College, and was subsequently ordained as an Anglican priest.

Sale moved to Manitoba after his graduation, and joined a team ministry at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Fort Garry from 1966 to 1969, and has been an honorary assistant in this parish since 1976. Later he worked with the United Church of Canada and then became executive director of the Social Planning Council of Winnipeg. In the early 1990s, he taught at the University of Manitoba in the Department of Economics and the Faculty of Continuing Education. He also served as a Fort Garry school trustee from 1971 to 1977, spent eight years on the board of the United Way in Winnipeg, and was chief executive officer of Winnipeg's Social Planning Council from 1976 to 1985.
