Tilda is a GTK+ terminal emulator. It is based on the VTE terminal emulator widget underlying GNOME Terminal. Its design was inspired from consoles in computer games, such as Quake, which slide down from the top of the screen when a key is pressed, typically the tilde, and slide back up when the key is pressed again.

Running Tilda can be faster than launching a new terminal with a keyboard shortcut because the program is already loaded into memory; it can be useful to people who frequently find themselves opening and closing terminals.

It is free software licensed under the terms of the GNU General Public License.

Tilda (Cocktail)

The Tilda is a cocktail composed primarily of vodka and ginger beer.

Preparation

A cocktail shaker is filled with Ice, a triple measure of vodka is added, and topped off with fiery ginger beer (preferably Barritt's Bermuda Stone).

The cocktail is then shaken and poured into a highball glass. A wedge of lime is squeezed and added, and the drink is garnished with a sprig of mint.
